Thanks for the info. My main usage is likely to be in a paved parking lot during softball tournaments for my daughter. Tournaments are usually all day affairs on Saturday, with a mid-day break for lunch. We setup tables, grills, coolers, etc. to feed the girls during the break. Thus the desire for quick setup/teardown, and the lack of multiple poles to tie down.

Still, $1500 plus whatever extra I need to spend to mount the thing buys A LOT of (effectively disposable) ez-up canopies......

lol ya and I found that 10x10 ez-up fits perfectly in a short bed. With my lower bed rails I'm not sure how a awning would be on my truck. wouldn't be able to stand under it.

I'm going with the Iggy one. I saw @OutbackHack one and kind of fell in love with it. Ticked all the boxes unlike the GFC one.

I love my Alu Cab tent but I want to be able to stand up and work on a laptop.

I'm considering letting my lease go and living out of my truck for the summer and I think the Iggy one would be great for that.

I'm 6'2 and the awning is mounted maybe 6 inches higher than the cab. If I'm aired down I can't walk under the frame, but can stand up in between.

That just means you need bigger tires.

I'm going to buy new tires and wheels - is it worth pulling the TPMS out of the old tires vs buying new ones? Old tires are TRD Off-Road alloys, and I'm getting steelies.

Is the time/cost associated with pulling TPMS out of the old tires a better deal than buying new ones and selling the old ones with the wheels?

When i had Discount Tires do mine (new tires on new rims) they took the TPMS out of the old tire and installed in the new set. They didnt remount the old tires which was fine with me. They didnt charge extra to do it

The tons in your trd rims might not fit steel wheels.

If you can find a deal on them, maybe. Looks like new OEM sensors are $50-ish ($49 on Amazon, $53 on Tire Rack), and that's EACH.
    A few factors to consider:
Leaving TPMS inside when selling is a "value add", price accordingly

How much does it cost to dismount tires? Factor that into the total "cost" to make the change. This does give you the option to sell tires and wheels separately, possibly expanding the number of interested parties.

As noted, make sure the existing sensors will work with the new wheels.

and having a 2017 taco the original TPMS should last a while. I have a 2012 and all my TPMS batteries recently died.

Shops normally dont charge to swap the TPMS over because they dont have to fully dismount the tires to do so. Just deflate them and then get the sensor out.

When I had mine done at 4 wheels parts they didn't even need to completely dismount the tires, just mushed em down and pulled the sensors

I read here that you can use TPMS from steel wheels on alloys or vice versa if you flip them 180.
