Is this from the Liberty trip this past summer, I think about August?

Pack along recovery gear even as a ride along. On the Liberty trip, there was a spot that was something like a 150 ft long hill that had to be winched up due to loose terrain and steepness. I didn't think I would need my braided steel cable, so I left it at home. As it was, it took climbing that hill as far as traction would take it, then winching to one point, then winching to another point. Be courteous and prepared. If you have a shovel, GSPRunner has the 4runner, so put the head of the shovel in a garbage bag so it doesn't get his rig dirty and when the shovel gets used, it doesn't drip water around his rig later. Extra garbage bags are good to use directly against the snow to keep you from getting your pants snowy, and later wet. Another thing you could do is PM him with a list of things you have for recovery gear and ask him what of that you should bring along. Make sure to bring small dog treats for Lucy, his wiener.

One of these weekends, I'll make one of these snow runs as a ride along, and maybe have a few tricks up my sleeve, like a steel pulley that weighs about 80 lbs, and is rated out for something ridiculous like 20 tons.
