    looks to me the put the winch line around the tree to keep it from going further down the hill. Looks like its tied back to the frame.

    I agree, anchor point for a medivac. With the two airlifts i would do the same thing to mitigate the possible moving parts.

    Right on. He was parked next to me in the parking lot. Silver Falls State Park was awesome, lots of picturesque waterfalls and hiking trails. Very busy though and dogs are only allowed on certain trails.
