I have Km2s currently. For most of their life they were daily driven. I honestly think they behave pretty well for an every day tire, they aren't very loud as far as mud terrains go, and I don't think they are bad at all in the wet personally. I do know that in compact snow and ice they aren't great. I've never ran them in the snow aired way down so I can't comment on that, but I don't think it would make a huge difference on compact snow and ice, which has made me consider ditching them in the past for duratracs are just going back to BFG ATs. But now I have a dedicated winter tire so that's not an issue anymore. They perform great in the mud, dirt and rocks though! And I can see myself getting 50-60k out of this set as well.

I was just a little surprised by how much the snow affected me heh heh, thanks though! . I don't daily drive my truck.... I use to commute 60 miles a day... But now I live 3 miles from work. So my wife drives me or I ride my bike. I don't mind getting a MT tire knowing I won't drive it everyday. Plus if I sipe the center lugs they should do even better in the snow/ice.

Now I just need to decide what MT and 235 vs 255... If I go 255 it will have to be a km2 but if I go 235 I have a few more choices. I am still trying to figure out if going 255 without changing gearing will be OK since I have a 6spd.

    Decisions decisions heh heh

I like mine! I've had 35" nitto mud grapplers, 35" pro comp mt's and now 35" km2's. They are by far the best road manners and lowest noise. They seem to wearing much better and more evenly than the others. Both the mud grapplers and pro comps were loud and I had cupping issues, I was always having to get the fronts balanced otherwise I could feel them in the steering wheel. The mud grapplers in my experience were the worst on and off road, I'd never buy them again. The km2's have served me well around seattle and on wet pavement, probably due to the fact they have more biting edges and smaller tread blocks across the whole tread pattern. I've always ran mud terrains on both the tacomas I've had, so I cant really speak for how they compare to the duratracs since they are more of an aggressive all terrain, but they seem to do really well on the hard pack as long as you're paying attention to throttle and brake control. Having then sipped would really improve their bite in the frozen or compact stuff, but it would ruin their durability when wheeling on dry rocky or hard pack terrain because they lose chunks of tread when sipped...
I did have 32" bfg all terrains on my silverado. I had them installed right before a snow storm we had in seattle a few years back, then had them sipped at les schwab the day it snowed, aired them down a bit and cruised all over this city. I was going up hills that were closed, around other cars that were spun out and stuck. Even gave a couple tugs with a tow strap and towed a guy up a hill to his driveway. Those were awsome in the hard pack and wet but never did well in mud or deep snow, the tread would just pack up and have no bite.

Holy crap. Amazing how something that turned out so bad started out as something innocent as an ingrown hair.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I've had a cellulitus infection caused by the same thing. Not fun. I luckily got it caught before it spread too far up and down my leg. The redness/swelling was about to my groin when I got to the doctor.

Well boys, shall we head out toward HWY 2 and see whatever roads/areas Devin knows/we can explore areas. Keep in mind w/ the 4x4 loop that some of us don't have sliders  .....yet.
Probably better chances of seeing more snow at that area of the mountains that the I-90 area :notsure:

There will still be plenty of snow wherever we go. Supposed to be dry all week so no NEW snow but there should be little or no melt with pass temps staying around freezing all week. I'm good with either, I haven't been out off Highway 2 much so I'd be down for that, as long as we have someone who knows there way around, which it sounds like we will.

Either way I say we meet up at a Safeway parking lot in North Bend or Monroe-- they have gas, coffee, food and a lot of room to wait & BS w/out really pissing off other customers.

I just got my 255 KM2s two weeks ago. They did better in the snow than I expected. I'm use to running 12.5 wide tires and was worried I might dig in to much. As for power loss its not bad (I have a 6 spd). I don't have to shift down on free ways and it actually takes off faster (tires don't spin as easy). I will not regear until I go to 35s and put a front locker in.

I may head up this weekend since its a shorter drive for me (was heading to Mount Baker area).

I have a Toyota on factory dun lops and 4wd. I can go anywhere and do anything. Doesn't your truck have the buttons that can convert it to boat mode, submarine mode, and airplane mode? All I need now is a big horn on the front for airplane mode, and I shall call her my unicorn.

I have the 4 cylinder with 5 speed on my truck and my plan is to upsize for my next set of tires from 245/75/16 to 265/75/16, so 2 sizes up, and no regearing. You should be just get wider than 255. Look more like 285 for the width on your v6.

285s are too wide for a 33 in tire IMO. Extra weight, more rubbing, etc. skinnies should barely rub and provide more traction except for deep snow and sand...but I'm not about to run those super balloon tires that I see on the Iceland trucks heh heh.

285s do look nice but I still like the tall skinny look, better heh heh

Isn't the factory tire on your truck a 265 or did they put 245s on everything? Maybe its just me but I would rather have a 265 rather than 255 or 235. The last set of tires I put on my last car (2003 yota matrix xrs) were 235/40zr18, and those barely fit.

In comparing weight, to go from Dunlop at20 246/75/16 to cooper ATP 265/75/16, tires go from about 30lbs each to 47 lbs each, substantial weight gain especially on the 4 banger but I would rather get the wider floatation and traction. When I grow up/can afford it, I plan on getting a second set of wheels with bead locks and a much more aggressive tread pattern.

Hey Guys! I've been lurking here for a long time and don't ever post anything. If you are headed up HWY 2 on Saturday then put me down as a maybe. I won't know if I can go for sure until Friday afternoon.
I don't have a whole lot of offroad experience but have a fairly capable truck and a little bit of recovery gear. I'd love to meet you all and maybe learn something along the way.

I only went down to 15psi. I aired down the first corner everyone stopped at and never needed to again. I drove back to safe way and aired up. It actually drove alright on the freeway at 15psi.
