Great pictures David! I still can't believe you made it all the way to the top in your truck..I guess it goes to show helpful it is to air down.

I didn't have any problems after I aired down, I got right through the curve where I got stuck. I did avoid stopping on the hill, probably should have given starting on the steep part a try.:)

Thanks for all the pics Cosmicfire! You made all the trucks look great. But somehow that hill shrank. It felt much steeper than it looks in the pics!

As for CBs I wanted a small footprint in the cockpit so I went with the Cobra 75

I've only had it out on the trail once but it worked great and it's really nice to have all the controls in my hand. Its not a super cheap unit though.

I'm starting to research CBs; and I've been wrestling with the size and locations. The 75 sounds like a good solution if you don't want to give up a little space.

Eh I personally don't like having all the controls on the remote, hard to fiddle with one handed. I prefer having volume, channel, and squelch in a known stationary position. That's been my experience at least

Its hard to manipulate the controls one handed? I don't find that to be the case. That is the idea behind the design I think. I constantly monitor signal strength and adjust squelch so I like being able to pull it up into my vision so I don't have to look down into the cockpit while driving.

If I'd bought a more conventional CB I was thinking about mounting it in my armrest which would tuck it away cleanly, but I am glad I didn't do that. Having to open my armrest to do anything with the radio would have started to drive me nutz right away.

I do think the wireless mics are kind of slick if you already have a radio set.

I also thought about getting one of the midland 75s. I think its pretty slick that you can turn it into a handheld when you want one.

but the store i was in had a Cobra so I just went with that.

Anyone interested in an 05-11 bhlm. I have an extra set of bezels sitting around that i could get painted up and swap for your stock ones and $150. I can do the work at my place. Should take less than 3 hours

Trying to mess with it/hold it up to your head to listen to it while driving through a rock garden and lead a group doesn't work for me. I think if it had been louder I could have lived with it a bit more.
I constantly monitor signal strength and adjust squelch so I like being able to pull it up into my vision so I don't have to look down into the cockpit while driving.
If it's in the dash like me, it's always easy to see :)

It takes an insane amount of AA batteries and eats them like mad from what I recall. I never tried it when I had it.
