Anyone have to replace a fan clutch? It seems like my fan is engaged constantly now and is pretty loud.

Hold on to it with your hands and have someone cold start the engine. Then let go. It should immediately catch up to speed if not it's bad

3 hours Oo. Actually that sounds about right. About an hour into mine but im only doing the 30k (at 36 >..) Got the transfer, rear diff, and oil changed out. Then got to the front diff area to figure out a noise and found out my drivers side CV axle has a shit ton of play. Guess i cant put off the ecgs bushing any longer lol.

Doing the ECGS on your own, or having it done? I've been thinking about, but I just pumped some new fluid into the front diff. I guess it only takes 1.6 qts, and I used Dino Juice, so not really that big a deal cost-wise if I have to replace it at 5 miles....

On my own. Ive had it for awhile. Just been lazy about it since it was removing skids, draining the fluid and all that. You can be cheap and reuse the fluid but for the cost id just say meh. Now if it was something like Redline or purple royal id just filter it and reuse it

One thing I was just thinking about. The rear fluid came out translucent and still mostly a shade of straw. The tcase too, but a bit dirtier. That makes sense to me because of the rear diff capacity being over 3x higher. I was surprised it looked so good actually. But the front diff fluid looked dark gray.

I had the dealer do the 30k diff/tcase service. So I’m thinking the dealer didn’t actually change it, or the bearings are very worn and the color is from metal shavings. It was noticeably different than the rear and tcase.

My rear axle was dark and a tiny bit milky. Definitely was time to change. The t-case was still decently "clear" But after 7 years its worth changing out anyways. Would be interesting to do a blackstone lab report on it but I'm to cheap for that. Ill know what the front looks like tonight as ill dive into that and the ecgs bushing once I'm hope if things work out.

If you have a front skid plate I bet the dealer was just fing lazy and didn't take it off to do the front

Rear diff has *almost* no moving parts, in comparison to the t case, so that makes sense. The dealership not changing the front diff also sounds very likely. When I got mine back after my 25k change, i discovered that the front sideline rear joint hadn't been greased, I think since the factory.
