Do it. Who knows, I may buy a different one in the future. It would be a better deal to not have shipping involved.

This looks fun as hell. Can I run a 9mm carbine pistol instead of an AR?

We have folks show up with their "braced pistols" instead.....:anonymous:. Doesn't have to be center fire either, rimfire ARs, 10/22's, etc. are fine. I've even brought my 1873 lever gun in the past.....

Really discourage folks from just showing up with only a traditional handgun only though. Plenty of pistol sports options around, not a lot of "rifle" shoots. We'll get a "third run" in a lot of times too, and then folks can opt to shoot it with a traditional handgun only if they wish.

Only real limitation is the caliber. 5.56/7.62x39/6.8 are fine, but nothing higher powered than 7.62x39. So no 7.62x51 (308Win) or more powerful. Which is a bummer, means I can't bring my 458SOCOM and shoot it. :(

Ammo restrictions (per range rules): brass case only (no steel or aluminum case.) No M855 ammo, or anything with bimetal jacket construction (if a magnet sticks = no go.) Also no Federal Fusion ammo (it's tears up the backstop apparently, hot stuff.)

Want to be real HSLD? Bring your PVS-14 and go full dark*...... :bananadance:

*requires at least 2 people show up with NODs for safety

Curious what you mean by"traditional handgun". Or do youean people only bring handguns and not a rifle too?

Shooting with nvg's is definitely different. Only done it once and it was quite a weird experience. With practice you'd get use to it though! I know there used to be a rather large three gun meet that was all done with nvg. Plus late at night...like midnight. Buddy did it and said it was by far the hardest three gun match he had done between the dark and being tired.

A traditional handgun, as in your classic handgun that doesn't have a brace on it, weighs 8 lbs and barely fits inside a backpack. :bananadead:

Like a Glock 19 or a 1911. It's been very rare, but we have had people show up to Friday Night RIFLE league with nothing more than a Glock 19 and a few mags. That's what I meant by showing with "only a traditional handgun."

As for that match, sounds like it was the Crimson Trace night match down in Bend, OR. Only ran a few years, which is too bad. I never got a chance to do it, but a few friends went every year.

For rifles, IR lasers are definitely the way to go. I run a Steiner DBAL I2 on my rifle with a Surefire M952V IR light. For handguns, red dots actually work way better than lasers. I have an M&P with an RMR adjustable LED, and it is crazy how easily it is to pick up the dot under the PVS-14 and get accurate hits. I just kitted out my Glock 19X with a red dot too, so I'll have to see how that one works (Holosun T1 clone vs. the RMR MRD.)

PVS-14 plus thermal makes for a good coyote hunting trip!:bananadance: Even when you don't see a single coyote.....:annoyed:

    Are floor mats a mod?
So on a non gun subject,
Had to take the big cat to the emergency vet because he couldn’t poop.
After several hours, Kris calls and says they have to keep him overnight.
    The following ensued

Me- how much will that cost?
    Her- about $750
Me- how much if they keep you both?
Her- half of everything you own.
Me- I love you and am on my way to pick you up.
Her- you should stop and get flowers for me.
    Me- got it will do.

Gun show was no luck for me. If anyone has a pesky AR taking up space in their safe that they want to get rid of, let me know. :bananadead:
