Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Congrats, glad you could squeek in before the door closed. And no need for the gun talk to die down, the only thing that gets me through most boring days at work is gun porn and truck porn, it's even better when I can get both in the same place. Having to stick around for 8 hours a day regardless of how much work there is to do can get old, especially with one week left until the holiday shut down we aren't exactly cranking up the workload.

Ive used it a bit on my laptop at home. The plugin for Chrome/Firefox and not the App though. Havent realy gotten to use it to much though since most stuff is bought via Amazon and they dont really have any discounts there.

We use the honey app to track the cheapest price on Amazon for the same thing. Pretty weird how much the price can vary from week to week or seller by seller.

    Yes, actually.

Aside from trucks and guns, anyone in here got any other hobbies? What kind of winter/long term projects y'all have going on?

I'm also really into cars, mostly Audi/Porsche. Due to a lack of free time due to other priorities I hadn't had a "fun" car for a couple years, but I recently decided it was time to get something to tinker with again. I was initially looking for another 911, but I wanted one with a blown engine to do a motor swap in. I decided I don't quite have enough available free time for a project of that size yet, so I abandoned that plan for now. Instead, I ended up "adopting" a friends 4.2 A6 that has been sitting for a few years.

I actually did most of the initial build of this car almost 9 years ago, so I know all the modifications are done well. It needs some TLC, but nothing too crazy. Mostly it just needs some deferred maintenance addressed and some cosmetic restoration. The big issue is the transmission, which is starting to slip under load. It should just need a new valve body, but if that isn't the case I'm going to attempt an manual transmission swap, which hasn't been done to one of these as far as I know.

Here's the old girl in her current state:

This is what it looked like back in its prime:

Although I should probably fix the mechanical issues and get it back on the road before I start buying other parts for it, I couldn't pass up a deal on some new wheels, so I picked these up this weekend:

I really just find myself trying to fly fish and bird hunt in my free time. Camping and those things seem to co-exist with each other. I’d like to get a new car next year, I’ve wanted a new Mustang for a while but I think we’ll probably just end up getting my lady a new car next year probably a new Outback. We have dogs so we pretty much have to both have dog friendly cars.

Here’s a pic from this weekend of my girl looking proud of herself from the days hunt, there’s not much else out there that makes me happier than watching her do her thing. 84CCDF15-3890-4CCE-B3FC-5C20F1B51DE6.jpg

And really my only ongoing project this winter is continuing to teach Rebekah how to fly fish, because if she knows how to do it and enjoys it, that means I’ll just get to go out and do it more often! DC7D154B-B3C0-49A3-B852-9826E98A8A9C.jpg

    Did this from 1995-2001

Attempting to be a parent, I switched to four wheels.

Did the Uber super sedans; lurking from 2006 until 2010 due to pricing depreciation.
Picked up a used 2003 RS6 in 2010 at a tiny used shop near Hollywood, CA.
Prior owner was some famous artist/painter/designer (I didn't GAF).
36K miles when I got it, sold it three years later with 68K.
Everything to repair or replace on that was $1000.

I'll see if I can find a photo or two of that car...

switched to the Tacoma whereas I don't care if I get a scratch on it or dirty.

I love C5 RS6s. Still on my "want to own someday" list. I may sell the A6 after I get it back up to snuff pick up either a B7 RS4, C5 RS6, or a nicely sorted stage 3 B5 S4. I'll wait to get another 911 until my kid is old enough to not need a booster seat anymore.

    Gorgeous Dog!

I haven't hunted around the Othello/Royal City for quite some time. Most of my public land hunting anymore is the Lower Yakima Valley or Quincy were I've picked up a couple birds this year. I go to a club in Ellensburg a lot as hunting public land can be a little trying from time to time.

Nice, I really like the Scouts. I'm too tall for one, otherwise I'd probably have one in the garage.

I also build bikes, though they have kinda been put on hold for the time being. Once I get my garage situated a little better I'll probably start another build. I really want to find one of the turbo bikes from the 80s, I think it'd be fun to modernize one of those.

Here's a couple of my builds:

    That V12 bi_turbo!!!!

Gut the downpipes to get the turbo spooling sounds (at least that was the trick with the RS6).
Buddy of mine has the V12 S600 and said it was stupid scary in the wet and ripped thru tires.
