It was quite a difference from where we were staying which was tye coast north of Kona. I loved it a lot more. From waipio to hilo was an awesome drive. Wish we could have explored more of the hilo side but with the eruption we figured best to stay away.

Anybody ever get rid of their muffler on the stock exhaust and just straight pipe it? I was wondering if it would be too raspy or annoying...

Sounds like a wet fart with a bullhorn pointing down a small pipe

Flow master delta flow sounds okay. Not too in your face but you can hear the truck.

I ran a straight pipe on my 1998 Ram/Cummins. Technically the turbo was considered a "muffling" device. The wife said it sounded like a rabid garbage truck. With the Psycotty intake and the straight pipe, it was beautiful man, beautiful......

I have family near Pahoa and was there while fissure 8 was blasting. I've camped on the Waipi'o beach several times. Legend has it that if you do shrooms down there you will see the Nightmarchers and they'll come and rub tiger balm on your balls.

Ok me and my friends made that last part up. because we were shroomin.

Oh and yes, the manta ray swim at night is awesome!

50' would probably be enough given that it's always clogged with fucking traffic

All of you complaining about onramps don't know what underpowered is. You're welcome to borrow my '70 VW bus with it's original 40hp engine. Well, it was 40hp when it was new, I'm probably pushing 30hp at this point. You haven't lived til you've driven a mile on the shoulder after the onramp trying to get up to a safe merging speed.

I drove in my friends bus and strong gust of wind pushed us from the far right lane to the far left lane on a highway. My dream of owning one died right there lol

You were in a good one if it took a strong gusto. Pretty sure a squirrel fart almost took me out once. It's a solid rig though if you're not in a hurry. And the payload is almost double my truck :)

Just drive between the hrs of 7am - 9am then 2pm - 6pm. Traffic doesn't get much faster than 30mph on a weekday during those times.

The off ramp from I-5 north to the 163 does that down hill with a very sharp turn with the merge of 4 lanes to 2....
