I would be in for something where I could take out my stock truck. I'd like to meet up with some guys on here and get to know you. I went up Green Mt. a couple weeks ago and it gave me the itch to do some off-roading and start building up my truck.

I understand that very well. Maybe you and I can meet up sometime at Norms on Lundeen Parkway east of highway 9. First time I took my truck out was to Liberty. It was posted up that minimum requirements to make it were 32" MT or AT tires, armor, 3" lift, and a couple other things. I went out with lower control arm skids on factory Dunlop AT20s, which are about 30". I may have gotten lucky that day but I surprised everybody out there by keeping up. After that, I wanted to get out for more but I am lacking on available time, especially now that I am about to leave the area.

If nothing else, you can come to my place, and play in my yard a bit, drink beer with me, and shoot. I only have a 9mm pistol, but it still is fun.

How about a trip to Tahuya on Jan 26? Easy enough trails for stock trucks, but sloppy enough that it can still have some challenge. Closer to home for Tacoma, Olympia areas.

    Who is in?

Dora, can you be the leader since you have been here before? What is best meeting point (probably Safeway somewhere near there)? What time at meeting point?

I will say now that I am in for it.

Hey just a question for you guys with tint in the WA area.
Does anyone have tint that they think is 'too dark'? Im tinting my windows, and want them to be dark, but i still want to be able to look out my windows. I was thinking around 25%.

I had my front side windows tinted at 30%. The guy told me they would match the rear factory tint. He was right.

I think 20% is the legal limit on front windows. At 20% people can still see in. Remember that the tint will always look darker from the outside looking in than the inside looking out. Limo tint is something like 5%. You can always have any existing tint removed and new put on to have it match or get another layer put on top of existing that might match or get close. All new tint can also give better color options because not all tinting films are the same.

I got a single cab so thankfully i dont have to worry about matching any tint.
I heard from a friend that 35 was the legal limit. But im not too worried about legality, Cops around me dont really care too much.

35% is the legal limit. I have 25% on my current truck and think it is the perfect level. Still easy to see out of at night and never been hassled by the police, while still being dark enough in the daylight.

I've got 20% on a black truck and I love it. It can be a little dark at night but I don't have any trouble. I also have 75% ceramic on the windshield for heat.... And no I didn't get that in WA heh heh.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
It's a loop trail, so there's really no need for a "leader" per se, but I am gald to take point and help spot when needed. I think it will be a great learning experience for the new/stock guys to get more familiar with their rigs and get more comfortable driving off-road.

Yeah, but it's open year-round and it's only an hour from us. I think it will be a good trip for alot of the guys who are itching to get out and test their trucks. I have only been that one time, and I still want to find the Yellow-Jacket hillclimb, since we didn't get to do that last time.

How's this for a tentative plan?

    WHEN: Sunday, 1/26
    WHERE: Tahuya
MEETING AREA: Safeway - Belfair @ 9:00am, on the road by 9:30am
PASS REQUIRED: Discover Pass required* - can be purchased online, or at the Belfair Ranger's Station
RECOMMENDED GEAR: Any recovery gear you have, tow-points, CB (or at least 2-Way radios), lunch, camera.
    ATTENDEES:
    Smar969905 (Zach)
    Benson X (Ben)
    Chickenmunga (Mike)
Beavis0076 (Beavis) + Wifey in the FJ :D

How bad do you think the trails will be? I've got my snow tires on(Yoko Geolander ITs) and would like to avoid having to put my spacers and KM2s on if possible. Thoughts?

They will likely be a little slick/muddy. You should be fine, but I would probably air down a little.
