I believe it’s the layer of rust that had finally made my Dakar’s stop squeaking.

It would have to be the county's front door if that's who your trying to get money from, not the city.

Well that's pretty stupid. But that's just me.

Your insurance isn't helping in this situation?

This is my first time, so my understanding is I can do everything through the city and not involve my insurance or I can make a claim on my insurance, my rate goes up and I pay my $1000 deductible which i will most likely get back at some point and I get a check faster. I probably wont do any repairs except the mirror but I dont know if my insurance company will only pay the bodyshop

If they sideswiped you it shouldn't result in a claim on your end or cost you anything. In fact if you contact your insurance company they will then usually do the leg work to get the at fault party to make things right because it is in their interest to keep your vehicle in a condition where you want to maintain the full coverage insurance. It's at least worth contacting them, you are paying them enough that you should get something out of them.

They should go to bat for you, since you are not at fault and shouldn't raise your rates for something you didn't cause. They'll go after the country to recover their costs. You should get at least 2 appraisals and shouldn't be required to spend that money on the repairs. You can select to just receive a lump sum for the quoted price of repair. If they raise your rates for a not at fault accident, you need a different insurance company.

    And also what @JeffRoyJenkins said.

@Benson X @TheToyotaGarage @yeos y’all remember the name of the ARB rep you dealt with? I finally got a hold of them today and they want all sorts photos and stuff this time. Last guy was happy with A photo and the serial #’s. Why do they need to make this even more of a pain in my ass.

I worked with Tim. sent pictures and serial numbers and was good to go, they ended up replacing both because I had one of the first sets manufactured. They shipped Friday and were at my door on Saturday afternoon.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I was working with Jacob. It took me about a week of back and forth emails, pictures, serial #s, more pictures, then he got approval to send out a replacement set.

I worked with Jacob for the replacement shocks. He said that my leak was minimal so he wanted me to clean them up and report if they leak again. A week later and they began leaking once again. A few pictures, serial numbers, and invoice from ok4wd and I was sent out replacements. 2 weeks from initial email to receiving replacements.

That’s who I dealt with on last getting my rear shocks swapped. Super easy. This time the guy wants a bunch of photos and a video of me trying to turn the adjuster that is seized. I think I’m done with ARB after this. Good customer service is awesome and all but I would rather have a product that is good so I don’t have to experience your customer service.

On the other hand, good customer service is hard to keep up if people are taking advantage of it. Not saying you are, but others may have and caused arb to change things before approving replacement. :notsure:

Something. It’s all coming off this weekend and will be replaced by some super high tech 3rd gen Hitachis with a .5” spacer till I come up with what I to replace them with.

It’s going to suck balls for sure. It will be very motivating. Mostly the ride of the BP’s is pretty damn nice, so I’m in for a world of kidney smashing pain and slow cornering speeds.

I think I know of maybe one person who hasn't had problems with their BP51s.
