It's one of those things where if you haven't worked around one or know about how aggregate is conveyed/delivered you'd be confused about how it even got there.

I've seen signs for a gavel pit in that area when I've driven by.

 

Yeah now that I'm thinking about it, that's iron mountains pit. It's pretty damn huge, and used to be even bigger but has been sold off to development over the last 10yrs or so.

@PacNW_Taco I'm guessing your pic was taken approximately here and looking in a Southeast direction, which would point directly at their tunnel feeder discharge. Also judging by what looks like a auto junk yard in the foreground.

Yeah it's making crackrocks. Like big rocks into little rocks in a quarry or out in the woods. Or the ability to determine ones location in a photo based off of background, and the time of day in said photo.

Never really thought about it but I kinda turned into a rock hound with this job.

 

Right, my family has been working with JCI and Eljay for a while. It baffles my kids and is a cool thing to hear the guess they have.

 

Meso and also OG fab which is cheaper. Both are members on TW.

Take that back. Meso is cheaper and better looking IMO but currently not available. Gotta wait for another run.

The iron mountain quarry guys are all super chill. Not much to do out that way anyways besides drugs and work.
