Lol. I'm inept when it comes to posting with my phone.

I'm not sure if it's a Stephen King adaptation or not. It's a small American town (out in the woods) that is quarantined by military. Similar concept to 'The Thing' where a host takes over other living things.

Scene I recall: two researchers / military people enter and empty church in full PPE. There's a dog on the steps of the alter. They try coaxing it over but realize something is wrong with it. It starts to shake (and/or wimper?), it's back breaks open and a long, like 10'-15' arm rises out, stops for a second extended, and then impales one of the two people through the face mask. In the end, they recognize that this goo / thick petroleum looking substance is the culprit, or at least I think. May have been a made for TV movie?

Gave me nightmares, but for life of me can't seem to find it. Searching for sci-fi movies with this plot is like looking for a needle in a landfill of needles (figure that's appropriate to Seattle).

    Movies it is not:
    Dreamcatcher
    The Thing (duh)

Someone out there has to know what movie this is! Pack of beef jerky for your troubles? Bucket tin of flavored popcorn. Some extra 10mm sockets??

Just checked the weather forecast for crystal mountain and it says no rain/snow as far out as I can see so my prediction was wrong.... it’ll be cold enough in a few weeks but no moisture. Definitely not worth the drive from snohomish yet

if I could guarantee there would be any snow up there I’d say let’s do it for sure

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
    I am big Sci-Fi/Horror fan....

I think it's either "Phantoms" or "The Hidden II".

I am 95% sure you are looking for Phantoms, which was a Dean Koontz adaptation.

In the Hidden II, I recall there being a dog that becomes a host for the "alien" - and seeks refuge in an abandoned warehouse (used for a rave) - there are some exploding tentacles and some awesome special effects - very similar to 'The Thing'....

EDIT - Yes, it is Phantoms:

OK so there is a video of me, er my truck aptly named the Yeti, moving a giant downed tree in the Rim Rock area with a 30K strap and 4lo lo all buttons on (front/rear lockers).
Meanwhile, the other 3 guys were:
    1. Off cambered 02 4 runner about 6" from tree trunk and each movement on pine needles moved an 1" or 2" closer to said trunk.
    2. 11 FJ snatch blocked to rear of above 4runner
    3. 03 Tacoma directly winched to front bumper of above 4runner

Movement was coordinated by 4th body in 89 Trooper. It was amazing...

We're still going over stampede pass and into lester to access the watershed for work. Haven't needed 4x4 yet. :mudding:

Stampede Pass?!? You mean you don't want to go through the watershed and deal with 30 miles of washboarded and potholed roads that would knock your fillings lose instead?

You should really use loctite on your fillings if they keep rattling loose.

Biggest bodied black tail I’ve ever seen.

I’m 90% sure it’s the same one that was running around on our property. I’m waiting for the does I’ve been seen every night to see if they have a buck behind them
