Hey anyone got a good reccomendation on how the hell i can extract a real messed up screw ? I have a screw extractor set and it isn't doing shit. Drilled out the center and put rubber cement in it with an allen key and gonna let it dry. If that doesn't work in gonna try and drill it out without completely messing it up

Haha I think I can figure this out I just don't wanna drill it out if I dont need to. It's for my bike sitting in my garage and it is only a 5mm bolt  just in a really pain in the ass spot. Rubber cement is sitting now gonna take a crack at it in about an hour

Edit: I also would not like to admit how long I've been messing with it

Sometimes you can get them backed out with a little slot head screwdriver or cut a slot in it or beat one in with a chisel and make it a slot head.

Oh I already did that. Pounded with a large chisel put the screw driver in did not budge. Just kept slipping. Tried a dremel same thing. Heat wd40 BFH nothing. Tried the extractor set in between all this and isn't gripping. Tried 1 size up (6mm and sae version) and tap in nothing. Then i drilled deeper loaded rubber cement in and left a 6mm allen key inside and here I am.

If your gonna drill it use a left hand drill bit sometimes they will bite and back them out.

I know the pain, im a mechanic for a living, hence the more than one extractor set i own.

I have a set that’ll locate and drill out the exact center then back the bolt out

this is the best design I’ve found, and relatively inexpensive compared to some of the others i have. The only thing i don’t like about it is that it doesn’t come with LH bits. There are probably similar versions available at a cheaper price

He's got the shit to get it out faster than you can say bobsuruncle..... By the time we're done talking about it, he'd have it out probably 5x already. And halfway through his 2nd beer.

Same size I think. It's the switch housing screws for the throttle and idle cables.

You know....5 minute job it'll be easy what can go wrong

That's just standard cannuk unemployment. Well I mean factoring in his regular wages and everything but just normal rates nothing special
Will second that kit. Skip the cheap one.... especially the spiral fluted ones you can get for like 30 bucks. Those things end up being more time than just drilling the whole thing out

Hmmm thought their stimulus was only applicable for unemployed or certain other situations.

    But it's Canada I don't follow them closely :)
