I just got rid of my old and broken car yesterday, and the truck driver that picked her up was telling me about his 85 or 86 pickup. 22R, 5 speed, and I can't remember if he said 35s or 37s. He asked of there were any runs coming up when I told him about TW, and he seemed interested in the snow run. I wouldn't count on him until he signs up and says he is in though.

No word yet even on whether warranty will cover the work. They did give me a Prius loaner vehicle for the time being. I talked to the service advisor Tuesday afternoon. He said he was waiting to hear back from Toyota. They had additional questions. He started mentioning the truck has aftermarket wheels and a lift so I started discussing it with him but he basically said he was on my side and wanted to do everything possible to make sure it was covered under warranty. Said there's a chance Toyota wants them to open up the diff and do a bit of forensics which would take a few days. If Toyota says 'go ahead and replace the diff and send the broken diff back to Toyota', it would take just a few hours to fix the truck.

When I went to pick up the Prius Tuesday afternoon, I saw that my truck was on a lift just hanging out. It looked like they had drained oil out of the diff but no other work was performed.

And if it isn't covered under warranty, it is on you to pay for the truck to have even been seen by the boys at Toyota, as well as the time to drain the diff, open it up, and put the cover back on. Don't forget hazardous waste disposal fee for the oil in the rear end.

Good luck man. Lift and wheels blowing out a rear dif would have to be one big ass set of wheels or some really heavy tires since that truck is factory rated to tow a trailer of 6500 lbs.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I hope for the best man! Just FYI, I had to call around to a few dealers yesterday to attempt to get an engine's Serial Number using a VIN. Everyone I called said it couldn't be done...

Then I spoke to Tyler @ Michael's in the parts dept. He spent about 15 minutes with me trying to figure out how to get it. He asked around and had me call back about 30 minutes later. When I called back he said "I think I got it man!" He pulled the VIN again, and gave me what we "think" is the serial number, so I can check it against this engine I'm gonna look at Saturday.

Michael's rep went way up in my opinion, and Tyler is a P-I-M-P for going above and beyond to help me out.

I've actually worked with Tyler before when I'm at the parts counter. He is a helpful guy. So is the red-haired gal at the counter as well.

Roland is my current Service Advisor who seems fairly straight-up with me. It's already end of day Thursday. I'm guessing I won't hear about my fate until tomorrow or Monday.

They have always been nice to me there too (I bought my truck at Michael's). They guy who ordered my diff breather stuff for me (could have been Tyler) was knowledgeable and super helpful.

Man, I'd join you but I'm stuck working. I did manage to spend a little time at Tahuya yesterday. Everywhere there's water has a rather thick layer of ice on top, so my trail choices were pretty limited since I have no under armor yet.

It looks like no one wants to run up in the snow Sunday, so I'm canceling the run. I will head up with different group instead.

Figured it out, it's this stupid connection sputting out a bunch of condensation. I'll have dad bring a sawzall next weekend and butt connect the two pipes with a piece of pipe and some clamps.
