If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Nice Mike! I would check out Yotatech and Lextreme to find info. on splicing the harnesses together. I know there are some outfits that will do it for you if needed.

I will dig around and try to find some useful info.

Are you gonna convert to 4wd, and what trans. are you using?

It's an all stock '87 SR5 4runner 22RE, W56 5-speed. The engine is tired and I'm treating the whole rig to some upgrading. She goes into the paint shop in Lynnwood tomorrow and I'll keep researching parts and info to complete this swap this fall.
My plan is buy a swap kit from either lextreme or quantaco-auto. I'll need an R150 trans and the adapters to mate it to my gear driven t-cases. My biggest concerns are the electrical system and making a proper cooling system all work.

    quick notice here:

    FREE FRONT SHOCKS AND SPRINGS

I probably should have made mention of this earlier but I didn't think about it until now.

Will (penguin_cc) gave me his factory suspension. The rear leaf springs were passed on to Kolt already. I still have the u bolts for them if anybody wants those.

What I also have are the factory Bilstein shocks on factory springs. I was going to swap those into my truck, but have changed my mind to go in another direction, eventually.

I live in Lake Stevens. I will be going down i5 to 405 (in Lynnwood), then to i90 on Tuesday. Anybody that wants these can have them. I am not looking for any compensation, but I am in a time limit to meet anybody. I won't have time to meet outside my house until I am leaving Tuesday as I make my way to Spokane.

If you want them, PM me your phone number and we can discuss you picking them up.

Hey everyone, so I should be receiving my King 2.5's coilovers rem res front and rear, some total chaos uca's and an add a leaf kit soon. One problem, I have no help with installation, I hear it is all pretty simple and I am a fast learner but I don't want to completely screw it up. I have access to a pretty loaded auto shop on base and would like to know if anyone just so happens to love doing things like this in the kitsap county, or somewhere near there. Willing to drive a fair amount! Definitely don't want to pay one of these local shops a hand and a leg for install. PM me or post below. Thank you!

So I accidentally ordered Diff oil with the limited slip addititive. Amazon refunded me and said I could keep it. I want to pass it on so if anyone with a 05 to 09 Tacoma wants it.... Let me know! I will either hand it off at a meet, you pick it up, or I ship and you pay shipping.

    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
Your truck is going to be sweet with all that hardware!

I'm not in the Kitsap area but I'm sure someone will chime in from nearby. Maybe you can setup a wrench day for some pizza and beer?

-good idea to do the work yourself, saves cash and you learn more about the truck.

The cooling should be fairly easy. Are you going to run 21 or 23 spline transmission and t case?

^ Wish I had a little more free time. That's the same setup I have in my truck and I'm not too far from you. I'm probably not as experienced as the other guys on here though. I just followed the installation instructions. It took me a weekend but I did it pretty much all by myself (I had a local Toyota specialty shop install the brake lines for like $25). The thing that took the most time for me was braking everything loose but since your truck is so new you shouldn't have that issue.

Did you get your extended brake lines?

No I don't have extended brake lines. Is that something I will need? Where did you get all of the instructions from?

~Maybe~ for the rear depending on droop.
If you get too long of brake lines in the front, they rub the tire. I think the only time I'd worry is for an LT (long travel) kit.

Sending PM for more info on instructions.

Ya, I only extended my rear brake lines. I have heard of a lot of people that don't extend their lines with a lift and at full droop it stretches or snaps the line.

I didn't think I needed them at first either but after I did the lift I had to hurry to find some. I got mine custom length at Olympic 4x4 Supply (http://www.oly4x4.com/).

I'll check it out, how much does that stuff go for plus installation?

I don't remember for sure but I think I paid $75 for the extended lines and $25 to have them installed. Olympic could probably install them also but I didnt have my truck with me.

I've actually been considering fenders like that. I just didn't know how it would look or how to achieve it.

Thanks guy, still looking for a hand or two! The instructions seem very simple but it's always good to have someone that knows what they're doing.
