I can second those. Isnt 100% but instead of a bunch of them youll get the occasional one. We used one on our trip through Alaska and the Yukon last year and were glad to have it. Only time it didnt help was at one camp ground which was terrible. Helped but still had plenty of them getting on us. But even 100% deet wasnt doing crap there.

I agree, I have the thermacell backpacker version and it is amazing. I got the backpacker one so I could use my never ending supply of partially used fuel canisters.

They werent bad except at ONE camp site that was actually in the Yukon (or Northwest Terrirtories dont remember exactly). But pretty much everywhere said to avoid that area cause of them as its bad year to year. Everywhere else the thermacell worked awesome and kept them away

Can you do the method like you can on our trucks? Disconnect the UCA from spindle and put the strut in "unassembled" then use a jack on the LCA to compress it?

Maybe not...I honestly cant remember F-150s front suspension right now :)

You can rent one from the auto parts store for the cost of the tool which is refunded upon return.

The design looks similar so this method should work just fine.

I didn't know that was possible. Yeah we might be able to do that, its essentially the same assembly as the Tacoma. I would have to look into how to do that. thanks man!

It's in the old man emu install thread I think.

But just undo tie rods, spindle to uca, and possibly remove the CV, then the lca is pretty much only attached at the cam bolts. So you can pry it down and should be enough room to get the assembly in even uncompressed. Just make sure the coil bucket has access to the nut of the top hat to tighten it down.

Hope that makes sense and is worth checking out. I'd imagine the springs are like ours and are good poundage rating wise so those rental units can be iffy with heavier springs

Its an F-150 so things are a bit different. Something to remember. I feel like there was a reason to remove the CV but I dont remember to be honest. Might have been the way the mount the lower shock to the LCA and we couldnt get a bolt out or something.

Tacomas ive always undone the Lower Ball Joint which means no need for the CV or Tie Rods. but for some reason the F-150 I remember the upper ball joint being the way to go even with removing tie rods and CV. But who knows why I think that lol
