Got some new goodies for the Lexus. Got rid of the wood panels next to the radio. Installed pieces from the Prado. Mainly because the tabs that hold them to the dash were broken and they stuck up bout a 1/4” above the dash. Also brand new ones from Lexus are $1k each. I got both sides from eBay shipped from uae in 5 days for $174. And they are genuine Toyota parts

I think the big thing is so many people here still DD/weekend their trucks and a straight flip sucks. The stock position on the frame with a flip has terrible geometry. If you do a flip it’s better to move the hanger forward and check your angles. Yes you loose a bit of bump travel and gain droop, which means you can kinda get tippy as one side will droop further than you can stuff the other. I personally run a flip kit, but it’s not just a bolt on thing. It takes a good day or two to cycle and set it up, but the kicker is most leaf packs are made for inverted hangers in stock locations. So it’s better to build your own bastard pack or run 63s than it is to buy a pack off the shelves that fit a taco. This is why so many people complain about vibes after flips because their pinion angles become shitty. Honestly both are a good option it just depends how much time you want to put in it.

    Are floor mats a mod?
mine was threaded so I put a shop towel over it and used a pair of big channel locks to unscrew. Heated it with a heat gun first

I had the factory installed tow package cooler. I upgraded to a Hayden 677 ATF temps have been consistently lower. Could go up to the next size, but so far happy with the 677. Used existing bolts on the install.

Drive through a transfer station for weight. They can usually do an unofficial weight for free.

I ran those on my taco, then my dodge 3/4 ton came with them when I bought it. I was happy with them, but I never did any hardcore wheeling either. When I first had them installed on the taco, wifey said they weren't as loud as she was expecting. They did fine for me in the snow and ice over here in my neck of the woods. I was about to get a new set of them in 285/75/16 but they weren't available. Hankook now had a new design which is the replacement for them. It is the dynapro at2 I think. When looking at reviews, and tread pattern, I didn't feel it would perform like I wanted, or like the original so I opted for Cooper at3.

Makes sense. Everyone who has done the 63 swap says the ride is way better too. I guess I'll start collecting parts for the 63 swap...

GCV160 motor? Are you sure it threw a rod? I have That motor in my mower and power washer and they’re basically indestructible. Pull it apart, spare parts are cheap on eBay
