I went to Walker Valley orv park the other day, it was alot of fun. It was the first time i had a chance to push my puckup off road. I was wondering if anyone knew of any better places to go around Arlington?

I was told Walker Valley can be really tough for our Tacomas. Where there some good trails that we could do without risking too much body damage?

Tahuya is easy enough even for me with my stock truck to make it with blowing up my rear end, drowning, or testing the strength of my driveline by bouncing across rocks. It is not very close to arlington though.

there are a lot of hiking trails near arlington, but i don't know of truck trails. probably drop down to highway 2 and head east. there is reiter pit a little east of monroe, but go in there expecting damage is what i have heard.

If you can hike a trail, you can drive a trail. Go for it! :D

Might be a little tight on some of the switchbacks. Also crossing the river by walking over a log might be something you want to try with a winch and fully armored underside to drag yourself across. Just try to stay balanced so the truck doesn't roll off to fall 10 feet into the fast moving current.

I would love to give tahuya a shot but Walker Valley is way closer to me. I've just always been curious about it.

Just did this the other day while trying to pull my truck up a steep hill with an excavator.

And why exactly were you trying to pull your truck up a steep hill??

A Kulshan IPA would be pretty killer right now.. Save me one.

^Just had a couple IPA's from the Northfork brewery about an hour ago. Delicious. I was trying to tow a 5000 pound wood chipper up a driveway at one of our job sites. I ended up ditching the truck after that incident and used the Kobelco 200 to drag it up.

So you were dragging the truck with 5000 lb trailer up a hill using that strap? The tow strap looks like about 10k rated, and based on factory curb weight of the tacomas, you were already close to that limit with the chipper.

On the other note, are the both of you hop heads?

Yup.. IPAs/Ciders/Scotch Ales/Imperials as of recently..

I'll sell some custom extraction/recovery/tow straps when I get back. (HINT HINT)

I guess you could say that but I was driving the truck and had a guy pulling me so it wasn't all just dead weight. That strap was on it's last legs anyways though, I'm not really surprised that it broke.

IPA's are generally my go to beer when I'm out, although I'll drink just about anything. If you ever make it up to Bellingham you got to stop by Kulshan Brewery, their Bastard Cat IPA is unreal!
