we have round-a-boots in North Bend too. I didn't like them at first but they've grown on me. It's just silly to drive a big loop so you can take a left or a right to the post office or the grocery store.

It’s all grant funded and contractors are suckin up that fed money to build them. This state is pretty corrupt with grant whores

I'm not against roundabouts at all, they've been proven to be the fastest way to moderate an intersection. It's when they put them in places they aren't needed that annoys me. I was in Burlington tonight and they have a whole bunch of weird ones too

Yeah I can just see those on 9 causing more backup than what the lights where with Boeing traffic.

There’s a particular light at the West end of Sultan that backs up traffic all the way to Monroe on busy times. I can see a roundabout going there to keep the flow as it were. The one up the hill by my house is never backed up. They are proven. The highway 9 issue at Frontier village (lake Stevens) they are putting in multiple back to back ones there and I can just see people getting disoriented and accidents happening. It’s the cattle call area of Snohomish county. Boeings bedroom. I used to run those roads in a dump truck and it’s a busy area. I’d be interested to see how it all works out. I’m not against this, but bean counters and engineers who live in condos sometimes miss the mark

We built 3 of those:anonymous: The State constantly changes the curb profiles and designs to prevent lawsuits.

Can someone recommend or able to cut some concrete pavers for me if I pay you? I’m in Renton and can bring them to you. I have up to 10 of these 12”x12” pavers that need about 1” cut from 1 side.

I’ve had good luck with a skilsaw and masonry blade...score a few times and snap...I have the saws and blades if you want to come up to Port Orchard to give it a try...no payment needed...Ric

I did the same, I think the concrete blade cost me 20ish, as long as you have someone keep the hose on it so it does not overheat it works really well.

Got this at Lowes for cutting hardy siding and it also cuts concrete pretty good.

Harbor freight sells blades and tile saws. We cut the top and bottom with our little saw then a slight hammer tap pops it right apart. If you can use a little water on the cut it cools the blade, keeping it sharp, keeps the dust down and seems to let you cut faster. I would do them for you but I am up near Everett

I live right around the corner from the mess of them going in there at Frontier Village. As much as it is going to be a cluster for a while as people learn how to navigate them, they had to figure out something different at that intersection and with the basically 4 conjoining roundabouts going in, it will give a ton of new options to navigate across 9 and into and out of the different shopping areas around it.

That said I am going to avoid the hell out it on my motorcycle for a while after already having someone change lanes and almost side-swipe me mid-roundabout in my car.

    Edit:
And for anyone curious, here are a couple pictures of what we are talking about

They tried to get us in there to build the curbs in 3 days. It was supposed to be weekend nights. The company that won the concrete bid tried to back out and give it to is. We said fuck no. I think I saw your Tacoma when we built the street leaving the village on the south end a few years back.

Pff I wish, not my pictures, just some from one of the local community pages. It's even more exciting driving around these things in my 4Runner with blown out shocks.

Funny how it turned into 2 week long shut downs now. Very likely, I still had it back around the time you guys were building that section, now it's just my tired old 3rd gen 4Runner.

The city of north bend has 5 roundabouts, 2 in down, 2 on the east end of town and one by the freeway. You can't come into or leave north bend without going through at least one. The doubles are within 400yrds of the other one. I believe they still have at least one maybe 2 more drawn up but not at that phase yet.

IMG_6576.jpg He’s learning. UPS dropped off his 5100’s and 883’s at 11. I got home at 4 and he was going back together. I was pretty impressed because he even used the truck as a spring compressor and got his sway bar off.
