That would suck running into another group in the middle of one of those v-notches and having to back out in the mud.

Yes, going downhill in that section, has it's own challenges:

Closer to stump, just around the corner

When you are looking for something potentially a little spicier check out walker valley ORV. There is a gatekeeper to get around but def some cool trails out there.

    Gatekeeper located here

I know there was some fun around the Concrete area. I don't know the trails well but can drop some pins from pics that I took.

My buddies are setting up a shop with a two post lift and are putting out feelers to see if anyone in the off-roading circles would be interested. It would be a monthly subscription with a contract in the neighborhood of $200 a month. Spots are going to be limited to 10-15 people to maintain availability. Let me know if anyone would be interested.

I just saw another person do something like this, it was $50/hr but they also supplied all of the tools and dispose of oil etc. Interesting concept for sure.

Yeah, they’re still trying to hammer out the details, but currently it’s a fully equipped shop with hand tools, power tools, welders, etc.

The drive up to twin lakes off of 542 is more of a sketch forest road than a trail, but has some spectacular views on a clear day.

IMG_0065.jpg Won’t let me copy and paste. Not a trail but some rough rd. decent views and gets you up in to some meadows.

Isn't that road gated just a little ways past the big gravel pit at the top? I've been up there a few times and don't remember being able to go much further past the top. Ditto to the good views though, especially of my workplace lol

IMG_0066.jpg When was the last time you were up there? They gated the short cut that skirts the switchbacks.

IMG_0067.jpg That’s the lower gate I think you saw. Max didn’t know the other way around either.
There’s 2 ways to get up from the Cumberland side. The gate you’re thinking of is new. You just have to keep going up the switchbacks and take a right where the gnarly water bar is getting washed out. It will look like the way you should go it’s a little wider and more used than going straight. Straight runs back into O’Toole Cr. Canyon and doesn’t really gain elevation.

IMG_0069.jpg Red is the gated short cut. Orange is the long way up that’s open.
