Can you guys recommend the Topside Bar & Grill in Steilacoom? I was asked out on a date for Thursday and she wants to go to drinks. She lives in Steilacoom so she might be bored with the spot, but I don't want to be a jerk and make her drive to me.

Never seen a custom cab like that, kinda ugly but cool at the same time, like the 4wd toyota vans of that era haha
Awesome little pickup, clean and ready to go.

The new limiteds. I have a set of 16" 5 stars with studded tires on them now. I also really want narrow tires, planning to run 255/85R16's
Thanks for the offer and the kind words fellas, it's a fun little truck.

Part of the Van epps trail. Nearly hit my quarter panel on that boulder on the right from bouncing back and forth.

Went on a 'drive' today and decided to just go west up north fork after going as far as I dared go alone on south fork... Ended up on Darland mountain with badass views. 1st time up there.
All the trees up there where scorched by lightning, and there where chunks of lava rock blasted out by my Mt St Helens...like another world up there.

Pretty short distance from me really, I think you can get to it from the backside via jeep trail but I just took ahtanum straight up to north fork and it pretty much is a straight shot all the way to the top. Most west spiders would probably take i90 to i82 down to yakima and go through south yakima via the route I took. Gonna explore the jeep trails more when I have someone rolling with

That place is an ok spot to grab a drink. Jake's is pretty good and not too far. My wife and I like to head to Tacoma for drinks down at the Landing. The Ram out on the water is great but can get a little busy on the weekends. I am not sure if they still have the deck open though as I am currently enjoying Afghanistan way too much

Ive only been there once that i can remember. It was OK. I thought food was a bit pricey (like 13-15 dollar range) but i remember it being good. Their tap list changes, think they only had like 10 beers on tap which isnt bad. though the standard Coors, Bud, ect took up a few of those.

Its a place i would go to again but not a place i would go out of my way to go to if that makes sense.

Well, I ventured out with a group of experienced 4x4 friends this weekend to Manastash Road starting around I-90 exit 101. I was suppose to go to Rubicon with this group but timing was not right.

    The line up was:
04 Tacoma DCSB with caged tail, 33s, 3" lift, skids, sliders, winch.
89 Trooper 33s, 3" lift, rear air locker, skids, sliders.
10 FJ, 33s, 3" lift, skids, sliders, winch.
(ME) 03 Tacoma DCSB, 33s, 3" +, front air locker, skids, sliders, snorkel.

    Plan:
Quartz Mt and Lower Naches (NF 3120, NF 590, etc)

    Weather:
Started as hot and sunny (shorts weather) at the air down location.

    Trip:
Proceeding up towards Quartz Mt, the wind started to blow enough for a change of outerwear (coats, pants, wool cap). Then going towards the Manastash rock garden, it started to sprinkle which made things more interesting and more use of the e-locker. Then about 3PM, it started to rain. We found a meadow after sliding down the first hill in the ruts and parked it, broke out the canopies, started a fire, got the tents with the rain flys on and broke out the rain gear.
Then at dark, it started to snow.
I was ready for the rain but not for the snow, as no one else was either.
    I was thinking donner pass...

Next morning we slid down a couple more hills to some slick wood bridges to traverse. On one, my buddy was guiding me across. I poked my head out the window and noticed bug movement which turned out to be a hornet's nest that my buddy was standing right in front off and the next was at the lip of a deep puddle. Well the swarm followed him and he only got stung twice. At the very end of the Lower Naches, where we ran it backwards, there was a deep V section downhill and a very large stump on the left side as you slide towards it. We had 4 people pushing on truck(s) to keep at least 1" from contacting. Near the bottom, there was another section blocked with two downed trees, which created an interesting series of off camber rut slides.

All in all, a fun weekend minus the snow and lack of prep for that type of weather. Super White is blocked with several layers of Washington's finest mud...

I was supposed to wax mine this weekend. Just the opposite happened. There are tons of trails back on the northern side of Darland Mt. I still want to check out naches as its not far and heard there's every kind of terrain. I need armor in a major way though for some of that stuff there. I try to steer clear of things that can possibly dent. Scratches are hard enough to swallow at this point.
I'd be down to do a group thing the weekend after this one though

After doing Naches yesterday, armor for sure and sliders.
If you have e-locker, I had to use it only on some of the slick roots.

I wish I could but I can't go wheeling until my light bar brackets get replaced.. They are cracked and I did a temporary fix but it won't hold on bumpy roads. Just waiting for Relentless to send them, haven't heard anything for a few weeks now...

I would but I wasn't smart enough to put a plug on it, just wired it straight together.. I didn't want to wait another 3 days for the plug to turn it on
