I emailed them to get a quote but I heard they are really good since they upgrade the boots to LT ones?

Well before I got my truck my uncle had it down in Nevada so im thinking the boots were dry and bridle from the heat down there that when I stretched them a lot they tore. This is what it looks like.. Dealer told me "its flapping around and flinging oil everywhere" so I originally told them to do it but after thought and seeing it Im going to do it myself with some help.

 

What was your truck at the dealer for?

 

Oil change and alignment.

 

Offer in on a house in Renton next to a lake... We shall see how this goes.

CVJ does the extended boots, not sure if it's a big deal or not. They do factory rebuilds, so no crappy parts like AutoZone and the likes. They will do a core charge and will not accept anything but Toyota parts.

 

True but not too hard. I've heard to remember to just set the seal in there and press it in with the cv itself so it gets seated at the right position. If you just push it in there you can push it too far.

Your friends Raptor would have had a really hard time going up to where we camped, very skinny trail. Other than that it was fs roads, we ended up going back Manastash rd since everything back Salmon La Sac was closed. But wish you could have made it out!

 

did we mention the pure sheet of ice on a downhill stretch? And then the truck in a deep ditch at the bottom. Was pretty sketchy right there. I saw Greddy slide down the hill sideways with no control at all.

 

Oh yeah, and the road looks like a light gravel, thats all at least 2 inch thick ice. That little brown part on the right side of the road past the truck was the only dry patch which luckily i aimed for, if that wasn't there I would have gone off the edge.

the story about the truck in the ditch. He went in the ditch the day before and then he hiked down and started knocking on doors of the farm houses. He found a guy with a lifted toyota pickup and winch and bought him a case of beer to try and recover the truck. That guy with the Toyota showed up while we were there and he walked down the ice hill and said "nope!" "I'll keep the beer though".

 

Yeah, I've been in those situations before and I don't need that excitement, lol. The Evans Creek bobsled was enough for me

 

Yeah that was a sketchy spot for sure.

I just remember Brian's face and him pointing to the direction that was away from him. Meanwhile I cant stop.... aiming away from the Chevy and Brians truck. Finally came to rest on the left side of that trail in some "softer" snow. Then road the ditch the rest of the way down.

 

Looks like fun guys. I'll be ready to go soon.
