I'm up in Bellingham.. About 30 minutes from the S. Skagit Highway/Mt. Baker National Forest..

Tallon - I know that's a hike for you; about 3.5 hrs.. Kind of a long ways to go back after a day of trail driving..

I'll start checking out some more areas, got a few friends up here that are more knowledgeable than I am, might even have a few tag along. Both of them have 1st Gens, and are really experienced in the PNW.

Tahuya works too - I can crash at my Sister's place in Seattle.

Benson! did you solder the end of you fire-ring cable where it attaches to the CB or just say screw it and screw it in as is?

Hey guys! Hope everybody had a good new year. I had family stuff, business trip and foot surgery but finally back. I haven't chimed in yet but you can count me 'in' for the 20th. Tahuya sounds good since it is accessible as someone mentioned.

The truck has been taking some R&R after I put it in a VERY deep gravel ditch. Lots of fine scrapes down the right side of the truck and a few small dents. I'll chock it up to being a dumbass on my part. I need to put a few hours into it and then it'll be ready for the meet.

I picked up a cool little stud welder and slide hammer for pulling dents, some HVLP sprayers and a couple books on dent repair and painting. Tried my luck painting a friend's bumper last weekend and it was OK for a first effort. The parts I didn't overspray looked awesome. Any screw-ups were easy enough to sand and fix. Some more practice and I'm ready to tackle all the little stuff on my truck's driver side.

The passenger side I'm not painting until warmer weather. I'm going to fix the dents over the next few months and then putting the truck away for a few days to paint. I sure like the location I live in but the lack of workshop space is a bummer. :(

Hey guys! I am pretty new to TW, wanted to jump in and let you know I'm in Seattle and would love (as my school schedule permits) to join you on outings. I am a beginner and have no trail armor or recovery equipment (yet) and so would be looking to go on some of the easier trails, but I am excited to learn all that I can!
