Hmm, i can't wait for the next get together, so i figured i'd make one. I wanna see if anyone is interested in doing a midweek meetup? Wednesday afternoon on the 15th at magnuson park? Location negotiable, but just wanna get a feel if anyone is interested? i could bring my little bbq and do some burgers.

nothing is set in stone, but just wanna get a feel to see if people are interested.

Building a custom spring pack would be awesome if i had the money. Plus i would have to know what spring rate i want or try to figure that out haha. OMEs dont sound to bad though. And im sure theyre pretty good off road so thatd be nice.
Oh okay cool ill have to message Micah when the time comes to get my set up.

Im getting real tired of DSM, before i've had to leave a message for Micah when "he isn't in the office" or "hes on the phone with another customer I can have him call you when hes done?" and never get a call back.. Called today to find out whats going on with my shocks and was told "he just left to go pick something up, ill send him your message and he'll call you back". That was at 1pm today and never heard anything.. Second time this has happened.

If they say he isn't in and he will call you back, don't believe it

I know how this goes all too well, I've been the guy answering the phone at a motorsports garage. I'd have piles of post it callback notes for the techs. They get stretched pretty thin with in house customers/phone calls/and online pm's on top of trying to get real work done. It sucks for all parties, sorry you're having a bad situation with them but do know I'm sure it's nothing personal.

Not personal, the guy who answered the phone could have checked on the order but when I asked him to he hesitated and just told me that Micah will call me back, like it was to much work for him to do. I don't know just never had any experience like this with any other companies. Rebel off road called me back within minutes.

I bet, id feel the same way. That is pretty frustrating when youre trying to get answers on stuff youve spent a good amount of money on.

oh weak, yeah that's not good business.

On another note, I cant say enough good things about dealing with WheelersOffroad. I've been back and forth with Steven today. Great guy to deal with, fast responses ftw.

Wheelers is great. So is metal tech 4x4. Pelfry and bamf have typically been the best fab shops

Ill actually be swinging by their shop (in person) today to pick up my shocks. If you want I can ask about your order in person so they cant really not give an answer.

Just let me know...ill probably be heading there in ~3 hours or so from now

Ehh debatable. I've wheeled and hung out with one of the guys, so they are nice outside of work, but some of their work practices doesn't sit well with me. I was straight up told that they don't like fabbing stuff for tacos because we don't like to drop money like the FJ guys. There's that and the whole slider patent thing

    In other news....

I was down in Roseburg/Myrtle Creek/Canyonville area for work. Might have to camp there sometime. I managed to get in a few walks and it has some amazing area.

Signed up for a beginner welding class, starts tomorrow! I don't know what the welding equivalent of a clay pot or ashtray is, but I'm sure I will be making a bunch of crappy things like that. :D

I swapped out to my spare CV last night (took about 1 hour, I'm getting good :() due to a boot rip. I'm going to be ordering the extended length boots from CVJ and doing a boot swap. I've maybe had one bad axle in the whole length of my ownership, but I'm murder on boots.

Suspension is planned, I am going with the King setup. I'm just waiting for some assistance from my buddy who works in our warehouse before I start my orders. He can get me our company discount on shipping :)

I also broke down and purchased a Tech Deck with a full set of RAM balls. After that drive to Roseburg, I'm sick of having my phone in terrible spots and I've been meaning to buy this for about 2 years.

I still need to get 1" spacers, bump stops, mess with my passenger side fender (need to drill it for the flare or end up failing, need to install antenna), and my damn stereo is having internal grounding issues. I need less list. [IMG]

Agreed on the sliders part. And we like to spend money. We just don't like to break our toys like the FJ guys do.

I have a tech deck and I love it. I only have one of the ram balls for it though. I want a second one for a tablet when that comes around.

I literally just got back from there. On 12's so had to go during lunch so I missed really asking about your order. I tried asking but the front desk guy was a bit hesitant since all the info I had was "his name is Brain and he ordered King rear shocks". Cant blame them!

I did ask about Micah. Apparently he is more of the actual shop manager vs being a customer service guy. Good to talk to if you have questions about which shock to get or revalving stuff. not so much for order status.

There's three guys. two I don't know who they are. but Neil is the main order/cs guy. Usually in charge of answering the phone. So when you call ask for him and he should be able to look up your order and all that.

Also use this number (619) 450-6128....I know they have a 800 number but Neil said that's the one to use.

kind of off the topic...its surprising how small their shop actually is. Always shear how they are one of the largest King sellers and all that. Their whole operation is pretty dang small really. Work space is like the size of a 3 car garage and the office portion is maybe 500sq ft. I only briefly looked into the work space and I was sort of surprised how little it looks like they actually keep on hand. Looks like they generally buy from King as orders come in. They did have some stuff but again I didn't get a long look.
If you cant get any info today let me know and Ill make a trip out there tomorrow for you on my lunch. They close at 4 so neil mentioned its nice to call before 1-2 since some of them come in a 7 and others more around 9-10 to cover the whole time they are open.

Just ordered my shocks and I wanted to report awesome customer service with DSM. He was super polite, knew his stuff, replied to my PM, and placed the order with King right then and there. I love the deals they give TW members. He told me that King is about 3 weeks out with their orders and they only receive shipments from them on Thursdays. So when they get my shocks in in 3 weeks or so, then they will ship them out and charge my card. I feel pretty good about it...

sorry Brian :notsure: I would not call them until Friday if I were you. You should be hearing from them on Thursday when they get their King Shipments in.
