Yeah, I just spend till my wife says to stop, wait a while then start again. Problem is every $1000 I spend on the truck, she get to spend $1000 on clothes. Getting ready to turn spare bedroom into a closet......

 

I'm almost in the same boat. Just found out i'm not just gonna be an uncle but also a father. Need to pay off the ole ladies car and get my truck the way I want it before he's born. I say he, pretty confident, but we haven't found out the sex yet. Then the spare room needs fitted out with baby stuff.

Crystal Mt is near Mt Rainier. Basically the last turn off before Chinook pass. One of the best ski areas west of the cascades, besides Baker. Good back country and they finally got a gondola a few years ago. If you bought the Snoqualmie gold pass, you get 5 visits to crystal.

When I go, I usually spend most my time out northway BC or head up high Campbell and traverse/boot track to the king. I could spend all day split boarding out there. Me and a buddy were lucky enough to make it one day before they closed the boulevard and got waist deep powpow runs consistently. 5+' in 3 days. OMG. Almost snorkle conditions.

 

If you didn't buy the gold, I'd seriously consider it, given the 80% off discount. A daily ticket to crystal is about $75 and that doesn't include the gondola.

 

I should have upgraded to the gold. Too late now

 

Call seasons pass sales and see if they will upgrade it at the prorated price. It doesn't hurt to ask. The chairs haven't started spinning, so it doesn't hurt to ask. I worked there for 11yrs. They should work with you unless you piss them off.

 

Crap but pricing doubles tomorrow. Dammit I wish I thought of that!

 

That sucks. Although you do have your order in, they may still work with you on it. I know you're in eburg, and you may not use all your visits, but even one or two visits are definitely worth it. If you go with someone who knows where the hidden stashes are you'll be hooked.

In my 11yrs at working at Snoqualmie, that got me unlimited days at crystal. One year I spent more time at crystal than I did at work. I've racked in 100+ days at Snoqualmie in my younger days. Crystal somewhere in the range of 30-40 days one year. I was literally a ski bum for a few years.

 

It changed this year... It's only 50% off lift tickets there now...

5 years ago I was off work for the winter and skied Alpental 5 days a week all winter! Great hill, but Crystal has SO much more terrain and variety. Also, if you know the mountain, you can still find freshies 4 or 5 days after a dump! Well worth the 50% off ticket.
