Hell, I don't use my FB either, and I signed up for Twitter for another contest...may as well exploit it.

Let me know when you want a hoody, but just a heads up: I only have (1) Large Black w/ Gray skull left.

so I called around..got transferred from Olympic National parks to National Parks and finally to WA State Forest Services. The ranger I talked too said you do NOT need a pass for the forest service roads...
Are we just driving on these roads? Are there other trails we will explore? I am game for whatever, and don't mind buying a pass if I need it, but when I was on the site it seemed like there were so many different passes, just wasnt super clear. Obviously I am new to the area so its all a bit confusing at first heh

We will be driving around in the Olympic National Forest which requires a NW Forest Pass. The plan is to explore the forest service roads and make it through as much as we can. This area does not have dedicated wheeling or off-roading trails since it is not an ORV park.

I have a feeling we will hit some deep snow on the North side, and may have to turn around if it gets crazy deep. The "route" I put together looked like it has some large clear-cut/gravel-pit areas for shooting and messing around, but since it's a new area to me as well, I cannot say for sure.

I hope it will be fun, but at the same time, I don't want you guys to be disappointed if we don't see/do anything spectacular. You never know until you explore :)

When I went on YouTube earlier, I saw like 20 different version of the Harlem Shake...and they were all ridiculously dumb. Must be some new overnight meme sensation that gets people famous for a day.

My Dad always makes some stupid jokes about the "Harlem shuffle", but he's been doing that for 40+ odd years. It disturbs me that the internet is trying to catch up with him.

If you are driving on DNR managed state lands you must have a Discover Pass. If you are in the National Parks and want to stop/park at a trailead you must have a National Park Forest Pass. A Discover Pass will not work for this. You do not need a pass just to drive National Park forest service roads.

What it all really amounts to is you must know who manages the land you are traveling through.

What it amounts to is, you can't even get away from.these blood suckers in the middle of the mountains. Wish I was going with ya'll, there are a few cool wheeling spot up there. As you pass the y to go in watch on your left side you'll see alittle trails with high humps. That's is a quick little section with a mud pit. Maybe you'll see it maybe not.. I'd go check out the steel bridge then circle back and head towards spider lake. Pass spider lake stay right, a few miles down the road you'll see a cutback on the right side if you take that road it'll take you to the otherwise of the mountain and eventually to Wenatchee lake. But that's hours away

No shit? Good to know! I have both passes just to be safe, but I wasn't aware the actual "rules" about parking/hiking/trail-heads. Thanks for the info, hopefully that will resolve some confusion.

Any more people coming tomorrow? I just want to be sure when we meet, we don't end up waiting for people who won't be coming.

About 10:15. It looks like it will take them roughly 25 mins depending on traffic.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up Kevin! I remember seeing a little trail off to the left while going up the hill. There were a couple jHeeps playing around back there, and it did look like some muddy fun.

I picked up a decent map from the Nat'l Forest HQ last night, so we should be able to navigate fairly well.

The original Harlem Shake is from the early 80's, the Harlem Shake meme is from early February.

Love it or hate it, people are hilariously creative: http://harlemshakeroulette.com/

Decided to look things up, there is a Harlem Shuffle, and it's from 1963.
My Dad manages to pick up on a bunch of odd stuff and typically transforms it.

Retardo Montabon - something he says when you are being dumb. I'm guessing he mis-head the name Ricardo Montalban
Don Salon - if you are a woman and get called this, Dad's trying to say you are a bad singer. He morphed Celine Dion's name

I still don't know where "Hotter than the Mell Tells of Hell" came from.

he's got a ton of them.
