I went up the Snoqualmie north fork road last weekend and did some shooting. Gotta go about 8ish miles in, past the private property, to the USFS land. Over 2 bridges just before the 3rd bridge there's a shooting area. Let me know, I may tag along also.

 

Possibly... if there is a Ford D60 there in decent shape for a future SASed Tacoma....

 

There's always tons of stuff, some good deals, but usually a bunch of overpriced crap that's been abused and people still want insane prices for. I usually cruise the used parts section before I head to the vendor area. The good deals go quick/early.

 

I go every year. Always lots to see and some times a gem or two.

You can shoot anywhere past that point too, just not before. There's a pit pretty close to the entrance of North Fork, but don't try shooting there or you'll have a very nice chat with the local authorities (don't ask me how I know). But the drive to the pit above is pretty fun. If you go past that pit (and past the bridge) there are more options in the woods or anywhere you can drive/hike to. I recommend wearing hi-viz clothing if you decide to go that route, though

Edit: if you guys want something easier, Issaquah Sportsmen's Club is about 20 minute drive away. A nice covered but outside range with no stupid rules or caliber restrictions.

 

Any chance of shooting longer range up there? 300+ yards?

Got a membership at issaquah sportsman's club. I like it there.

 

Not at the pit, that's basically 7-10 yards or so. If we were to go into the woods (camping sites) past the bridge, you could maaaaybe get 50 yards. I haven't explored the area around there to see what you could find, but given that it's hiking mountain country, I'd be a bit weary trying to reach out that far without knowing exactly what paths cross between you and the target.

 

roger that, I was thinking maybe a clear cut area or something might be possible but I haven't been up there yet.

 

One of these days youll have to come over to my side. I know a couple different spots to stretch things out. Anywhere from 100 out to 1000 yards. Can go out further but I dont have a caliber to really enough that distance.

A buddy and I found a spot you could shoot 2000 yards but neither of us had anything to go that far nor the experience to be able to lol. (or the targets for the matter)

 

The spot I was at, you could get 50yrds for sure or just shy of it. Anything over 100 around here is hard to come by without being private land.

 

Are any of you guys planning on bringing steel targets? I'm going to pick some up hopefully next month and start growing the collection. http://www.moatargets.com has lots of cool stuff at great prices, but I may also get a .22 dueling tree from Action Target at some point.
