Agreed - Billy is a good guy to deal with.

 

I don't trust them, I wouldn't with any screw on deflators. But I did try it once and worked well so who knows.

 

What pressure do you recommend going down to for gravel & trails? I have only aired down for snow.

 

Personal preference. I go down to 10-12 but I have E rated tires with Kevlar. You'd probably be good at 15 or so

 

I only go 20

 

I don't for gravel. Trails take less than snow, but it really depends on the trail and your rig and tire.

 

You're looking for a shape, not a pressure.

 

I air down to 18-22 ish on gravel. More for the comfort than anything though. Softer tires are going to be a bit more comfortable than high psi one. For snow I'll go 10-15 range. I generally run 35 for every day driving.

But each tire is different so really just have to play with it till you are happy. Run 18 one trip, then 12 the next and see which you liked best. I wouldn't go below 10 personally unless on real beadlocks or very low speeds (under 10-15)


But that's my opinion and like everything off road there's a thousand different ones

 

How bout 18 the first half of the day, then 12, then try 7 just for the shits and giggles.

I go to 12ish if we're on an actual trail. Bombing the WABDR I was at 16. Snow I dip down into single digits... Have gone as low as 6. Daily driving I am at 38psi.
285/80R17 Duratracs, load range D.

I also use the ARB tire deflator and it's badass. Used it the other day to replace a valve stem in a kid's bike that was at Autozone. POS behind the counter wouldn't help him. After replacing the valve stem I told him to go to the safeway gas station across the parking lot to get air in his tire and they wouldn't give him any air, so I fired up the compressor, filled it up, and sent him on his way.

Kid was like 8 or 9 years old and no one would help him without a price tag.

 

Dude, that's really cool of you! Reminds me being a kid screwing out around on a bike. It's pretty irritating how many people lack common courtesy now a days.
