    Fair point! I replaced the inner and outer TREs in March of 2013 and had a quick toe-and-go alignment done at Les Schwab so it's possible they didn't get it back to 0. But the TREs themselves should be solid, as they only have 25k miles on them.

    Well then, I can see why you are a bit concerned. Hopefull the full inspection will reveal the root cause.

    Nope, no noises. To be honest I can't really feel any sticking but I can feel the wandering on the freeway. The alignment tech could feel sticking on the alignment rack apparently. I think it's sticking just to the left and right of TDC

    Aw man, that sucks. Diagnosed as bent eh? Any idea how it happened?

    I have read about the guides inside wearing but have not heard of a stock unit bending.

    Yeah, bent somehow... not really sure, as I don't really do that much crazy off-roading and am pretty good about care and maintenance. I have done quite a few miles on some gnarly washboard dirt/gravel roads to get to hikes and trailheads though...

    Gonna go with a new OEM assembly for the replacement though. Too many horror stories with aftermarket.

    Well, new steering rack is installed and I re-did the "steering column tack weld mod" as my little tack weld had snapped due to some pretty rough forest service roads. Steering is nice and tight and drives like a dream. No more wandering and weird sticking while turning. But for $1100 it better be perfect haha...

    Bro loving your build and loving my projectors had to do some work on the though one time both of the shrouds came off had to fix that then a ballast went out i had to order two new ones then a bulb went out had to get two new one of those and my wiring harness went out and had to replace that over all though it was worth it i now have a brand new hid system because of it lol and i still love them hahahahaahahahahahhaahha

    David, great job on the bed rack. I'm getting ready to do the same here soon with my Father-In-Law, he's got the welding skills. Just curious what you based your measurements off for the platform of the bed rack?

    I should have looked further back. Did you end up going with these specs? What angle cuts did you put on the 2x1s?

    Yep, I did end up going with those specs and it worked great! To get the angle on the legs, I built a jig to hold the upper "deck" part at the correct height and then just did a simple rise over run calculation to determine the angle and cut it with a chop saw.

    Awesome! I figured that's how you got the angle! Thanks for sharing the specs! I just can't justify paying big bucks for a bed rack when my father-in-law has an awesome welder and a cheap source for metal. I'm thinking I might have him teach me how to weld that way I can get a welder and then the sky is the limit! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

    Do it! This was my first welding project ever. My roommate was a little 110v Lincoln Electric unit but it did fine. After a little grinding, my welds look great haha. Plus, the satisfaction of building something yourself from scratch is fantastic. Easily one of my proudest achievements with my truck.

    I'm so close! Need to save a bit more though... One day haha!

    Hello and happy new year TW! I'm looking for someone or someplace to have my front wheel wells tubbed. My 285/75r16 tires are rubbing the pinch weld during articulation while turning and I've decided that 2015 is the year that I correct this issue. Looking for assistance or a recommendation as this sort of project is way above my skill level.

    You don't have to tub for 285/75s pretty sure you'll be ok if you just cut the punch weld a little, trim the plastic and take a bfh to the fender well
