Hoping this isn't a redundant thread, but I cant find much info.
Currently debating on options of re-gearing and my 2017 dclb sport SLUG.

Im curious to see what a truck shop would charge VS ordering gears and getting the work done VS having ECGS build the 3rd member + Clamshell, and send mine in once install is done. (already got pricing from ecgs)

Cant seem to find any NY truck shops that do gear/locker installs.
I'm located in Sullivan county NY (kinda upstate)…
any suggestions to truck shops would be great!!

Can’t help ya with shops, but ecgs also has a 5 year warranty. I’m sending my 3rd member back to have an arb seal replaced all free of charge. Chase is a good guy.

I’ve actually been looking for a shop that deals with lifted trucks (and knows what they’re doing) and it seems damn near impossible in NY. Every shop here either deals with basic cars or low to the ground type stuff.

Wheel alinement and to cut two bolts on the shackle that I put in the wrong way which is making them rub on the frame. (Removing them to switch then back is a pain in the ass) Also if someone can check my U-bolts and the alinement on my rear axle.

Sawzall or angle grinder for the excess on the bolts will be way cheaper than a shop.

And just about any alignment shop can align a Tacoma - just tell them what you want first.

To the OP - I also haven't found anywhere in NY that deals with offroad oriented stuff. I've only heard good things about ECGS and would go with them if it were me.

The problem with the alinement is every shop in NYC looks at me like I’m dumb when I tell them I need 3degrees of caster. If they can’t grasp that then I don’t want them touching the truck. 2 shops have already screwed it up. My adjustment bolts are good and I have JBA upper control arms. So that isn’t the problem. And the last shop left my steering wheel about 4 degrees off center when traveling straight.

In terms of my rear diff. Something just feels off, I know I have some driveline vibes, but it’s not that. It feels almost like the axel itself is canted to one side, like the wheels are pointing /-/. DOES NOT look that way, but it feels like it, hard to explain. I’m pretty sure I installed the leaf pack correctly and the U-bolts are all showing even thread. So idk. Didn’t feel like that before the lift.

ETD tire in Denville, NJ has always been good to me. David Tarantino used to be a member on here and that’s how I started going there.

I responded in the other thread as well. With your questions you might want to post some pics, so maybe "internet experts" could give you some pointers. BTW, not trying to be sarcastic, some guys on here really know their stuff!

Here's my alignment sheet from last year. While maybe not perfect, I can definitely live with that.

What's your numbers? The printout would show if your rear is skewed.

I just re-did my rear with aal, have never done it before in my life, and was definitely a learning curve time consuming job in a skinny driveway, with jack stands and a floor jack. But I would definitely redo rear shackles for a piece of mind.

    Good luck!

If you guys are looking for a good spot in New York there’s a handful of good ones in Yonkers. De Dona enterprises and American tire are two places I’ve gone too. Good service.

Main Line overland in West chester PA. they do amazing work and are very familiar with toyota and their specific alignment needs for fitting bigger rubber. They've also done regear work for me. they took the price for the gear package directly from Nitro gears website. also, the owner has an axle sitting in the workshop from an fj he used to have. he got the prebuilt third member and it was not properly set up. better have these guys do the work. they do multiple drain and fills and start the break in process for you so you dont mess anything up!
