I'd like to hear what you thought of the VOT. I was originally planning on going but didn't want to go by myself.

it was chill...not over the top...good group of people that i met there...handful of toyota, lots of rovers, but many really cool rigs...nice camping area where everyone stays...lots of fun areas to explore down there, we'll end up down there a lot to wheel i'd imagine, we just skimmed the top of the trails down there

You should be able to see a well used and abused rig on display at sema. I can't trust a product that hasn't been thoroughly tested.

Everything is all pretty and clean. I'd like to see it one day though. I live 5 hours from Vegas I'm just not a big fan of it.

i'll be there sun-sat...the days always fly by and there's so much to see and do with the show...

i'm hoping to see more of the show outside of the convention center this year...i always get so caught up inside it seems like i am missing a lot of the activities outside..

there's a handful out there and we were talking about it for this year getting my truck outside the venue...then i was working on the move and stopped that thought train...

the show is growing more on outside activities that are open to the public which is great...so, if you do stop down, there's a lot to see now for free..SEMA ignited costs a little for public, but you'd be able to get in to

That's good to hear. I appreciate shows like Overland Expo because you get to see stuff work. Especially over this last year with both East/West getting hammered by rain/snow. SEMA just felt like a place for unnatainable builds by your average Joe or vehicles that will never get used for what they were build. I see that enough around TW already :)

finally did something about my fender liners....

picked up a 6x8 roll of vinyl flooring for $25. cut 9"x48" strips. used some plastic fasteners in the factory holes then used some pop rivets to hold the rest up. reused the fold over for the outside to hold things up. had to cut some reliefs and make extensions around the curve. then coated with undercoating.

note: make sure you add rtv to the hole after drilling and before getting the rivet in

not perfect but for version 1, not a bad solution.

in preparation for actual winters, i added a new switch...

ordered up a kit from @Up2NoGood, Kits can be found here, and finally got it installed last night...

almost painless process...disassembling the mirrors and running the wires into the housing was a bit of a pain doing it solo. With some crafty box stacking, i was able to do the job solo in 2.5 hours.

next project.... FJ heated mirror mod :spy:

edit: and yes, i know the switch is upsidedown

seriously tho, it sends power to my switch panel in the bed that controls my bed lights...there's 3 switches back there, left/right/center, depending on where i need light

the rock lights were moved over to the red rocker on the right...i need more room for switches :anonymous:
