I'm trying to decide whether to do 305s or 315's and I've heard that a lot of people rub with 315s even after a lot of cutting. What would you recommend?

the 34s i think are a great option for our trucks... look for the 17's in a 295 or 305 width, those are your typical 34s offered

i still had my cab mount chop, pinch weld beat back and some other hammered spots, but i didn't have to go too crazy...and no flaps of course

i ended up trimming the fenders so i can get full stuff, but i really only needed to trim back some up top, but i knew i'd eventually end up with 35s..

    trimmed with 305/70/17

how much i ended up trimming

clearancing i had on the firewall

some pics before trimming the fender with the 305s....

so as you can see....you can still wheel pretty hard without trimming the fenders....but you will occasionally hit up top and need to clear the plastic and some metal behind

So in hindsight, would you have done a 1" body lift vs. all that chopping and beating? It would appear that with the exception of the cab mount chop you may be able to avoid the rest with a small body lift.

bugging out to Central-East UT this weekend after work Saturday coming back late Monday...destiny unbound

if anyone is interested in exploring some areas, shoot me a PM.

must be reliable vehicle as there's a good chance we'll be logging some miles in the backcountry far from main roads..

recovery gear is recommended as many of these areas are not well traveled

    spare gas is likely needed

will be camping in primitive areas, so bring proper supplies

other option i'm exploring hits two of the harder trails in the san rafael swell, so stock setup would not be advised.

will be long days in the saddle with hiking and exploring around old mines a high possibility.

if you feel the need to explore UT/CO/AZ/NM/WY/ID let me know...not too far of a reach and always looking to explore new areas...the list in my head grows every day it seems

might be taking the truck to vegas for sema this year (not in the show)...most likely looking to hit a trail in the area at some point

Wheelers pass is fun. Nothing crazy hard. Look up Rocky Gap Road (Potato Rock road). The main trail isn't to bad but there is a wash that is fun and actually kind of challenging to go through. Big boulders and actual rock crawling.
