lol no amp yet...took me this long to finally give in and get speakers :D

no good place for a sub so amp really hasn't been on the list...even for the speakers it'll help, but not that necessary...

new speakers are much crisper and i'll take that for now...not really looking to throw out a shit ton of sound

dual battery setup will come before any amp setup

Nope... I just saw that he said that the rear ones were from Polk. haha. Didn't even notice he made the front ones.

So where'd you buy the rear polks that included the mounts? haha

polk sends them like that...both front and rear speakers had them in the box

that's what happens when you go to a higher quality speaker :D

    Nice work Bob!

What do crossovers do? Split the highs and lows for the tweeters and woofers? Why not just use the existing tweeter wires and woofer wires??

correct. the full spectrum goes into the crossover which is then separated into the highs and mid/lows.

it was cleaner to just cut the wires before the factory "crossover"/tweeter connection and run through the Polk crossover.

eventually when i get an amp i'll tear out all the factory wiring and start fresh.

sometimes it's easier than trying to figure out how/why toyota wired things the way they did.

Ok cool. You had me second guessing my audio install, but I did not replace the tweeters and I'm not using an amp, so it sounds like I'm alright.

that factory setup, from my understanding, has full spectrum going to the tweeter connections, then sends highs to the tweeter then full spectrum down to the lower speaker.

you should be good to go if you just swapped out the lower using that connection that originally went to the lower speaker.
