there were a lot of repairs going on down by the river on cottonwood canyon rd from wash outs on the road from last year's floods..

i didn't go past the arch...we actually could see the arch from our campsite the night before, just didn't realize it was that close...saw the sign on our way past and figured, might as well check it out while we're here...

if you head to zion, i definitely recommend taking cottonwood canyon rd north through the staircase...then go east and head over to capitol reef NP then north....such a great drive

seems how it's impossible to get work done the day you plan on heading to moab :D

i am working through some photo and video edits....finally

    here's a couple fun videos

this is the sandy hill that you need to ascend to leave the camping area at white pockets...

took it slow at first just to see how soft the sandy really was..
    http://youtu.be/2izQTS2flUQ

    then with a little momentum
    http://youtu.be/G5hAG3zo9kE

on a sidecut to Goblin Valley, i found this little section to throw some sand by Molly's Castle

I love that road from hanksville over to Goblin Valley past Molly's Castle. That's where we found those Japanese tourists stuck in their rental car on our UCE trip. Stupid GPS took them down that road to Goblin Valley.

    lol oh man too funny....

yea i had one look down that "road" and shook my head at that huge sand dune in the middle

i saw on the map a little jut out around there and was hoping there was a path around...very dry sand when we were there and hammer down around that dune was a necessity

it is definitely the way to go tho when entering into goblin valley...fun detour

Bob, the image of your truck in the tunnel with the light coming down is BY FAR my favorite image, just the right amour of the HDR technique, great exposure and composition. Well done!! Now make it a sig picture as is
