I wouldn't worry about the laws all that much they seem to be in place in all of the Eastern states but I have never really heard of anyone being hassled.

I know ohio is a one time inspection thing. Thats why most cars there are literally falling apart on the road. VA and PA are both yearly I know.

Oh never really thought about that issue. We here in Mary-land only have a one time inspection when purchasing or bringing a vehicle in state and it helps if you know people...:spy:

Just clean her up for inspections...It's really not a big deal. If all the horns/lights work and your truck looks taken care of they seem to be really easy. Big ticket is to have all your lights covered that are for off highway. That is the only real issue we have. SOme have had issues with retrofit headlights lately but I think that was just a dumbass inspector myself.

i've heard stories from NH where trucks have been impounded due to modified frames...mainly lowered trucks...

i had a guy in NY who was check the radio and pass without an issue...but they have a long list of items to go through normally..tires, brakes, leaks, lights, frame issues, body issues...i had to replate my '94 pickup's frame in order to pass inspection one year...had a section that was too rusted

Yes but all of those are safety items...If you keep your truck working in good order they seem to pass even if your frame is a bit too high or your lights might not be covered or other small infractions...Just my experience.

they do fit, but rub slightly on their way in the fender well...but they make it in "ok"

got some serious work done the past week on the truck getting the amp installed and full re-wiring, finally wrapping up the bushwackers today (pics to follow tomorrow), engine, tranny and rear diff fluid changed (yesterday in prep for a trip to vegas next weekend), and put on a custom splice ARB hawse fairlead today as well (stay tuned to TCT Magazine for that one :D )

then got some projects moving forward on the FJC projects...got a radio put in during the week, cab mounts chopped and 40" installed

pic of the cab mount on the FJC..cut a slice out and beat the front back, then filled with JB weld

ended up using the bend as a reference point and followed that contour about 1-1.5" in...then buzzed along with a jigsaw (didn't want to take the flares back off)...capped it off with some trim and WHAMMY! very pleased with the outcome
