leaves weren't really an issue that I noticed. the trees laid down in the muck caused the only real problem at the end. the way we went, there weren't many uphill obstacles though...would be fun going backwards on that trail

damn sledders laid the trees down length wise thru a muck area and one jammed in between my cv and lca. knicked the boot. wrapped it with gorilla tape to make the drive home less messy...saw how they laid and knew it was going to end bad...almost made it through when one got stuck in there...so now i get to swap out cv's and repair a boot..yay

That is some beautiful scenery. Living in Phoenix we don't have a Fall season.

Colorado had some great fall time experiences, but fall up here is definitely one of the highlights to the area..

if you head up to sedona/flagstaff area do you see any fall colors?

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I had a similar situation when I was in Rausch where I got stuck on a stump in the A arm and it pulled mangled the the clamp and pushed off the boot.
New England in the fall is a very beautiful place

The Village of Oak Creek which feeds into Sedona was the only place where Ive really seen color change here. That was over a decade ago and well before people really started to turn Sedona in a rich hippie retreat. The roads have been expanded and buildings raised.

There are more spots like this a long the Mogillion Rim and AZ but its all about timing. I'm headed southeast this Friday to a place called Turkey Creek. I'm hoping we get there in time to see it.

This is where I'm heading Friday. I apologize in advance for Heep footage.

AZ has been a place we've been talking about moving to in the future. the flagstaff region appeals to me as it has mountane(s). we miss the deserts and see ourselves there down the line.

Flagstaff, Payson, Prescott or Sho low are all great places. Flagstaff being the college town it would be my last pick ( cause I already lived there)

I am currently going to college in Flagstaff. There is a few awesome trails that go all the way from Flagstaff to Sedona with awesome scenery and the Flagstaff downtown scene is pretty cool if you guys spent a night there. Show Low, Springerville, and Greer (Big Lake) area are also really cool to explore around.

just did actually...pics will be up on my media & personal facebook in a little bit...

not a bad setup for $5k...would be curious to test one and see how it really holds up, but would be an entry level option potentially.. the marketing lady was MIA when I rolled through so I don't know all the details yet...

Cool. I don't really think I'm in the market for an expo trailer (dragging it through trails doesn't sound fun and I don't really need more space), but it's nice to see a more budget friendly option. The hand built in USA options are very nice, but also far from affordable for a lot of people.

Going back a couple of pages to where I was saying I saw someone that put switches in the center dash below the heater control. I finally found it. I think it looks nice and clean. Here is the link

I might have to relocate my seat heater switches there if I ever need more room in my center console for switches or shifters.

did some of this yesterday...one good thing about being in a new state...so many new trails to explore

went up by Bakersfield to see what that area had to offer...

old stagecoach rd...a fun section a little later on this trail at the creek crossing...muddy descent to a rocky climb out
    [IMG]

in the kings hill area, the climbs gets fun
    [IMG]

mucky, off-camber section on part of the climb turned us around...needed more time in the day...some maxtrax and/or winch could have made it through and continue on...locked f&r almost made it through, but i stopped before tearing things up much more...

love all these shady bridges...and glad there's bypasses haha
    [IMG]

the creek climb would be a sweet trail..but signs above point the trail away from there...might have been at one point..

topped off with a great sunset

Nice trip out to explore! I didn't see the back of one store in any of these pics either!

Have you had to add a chainsaw and pulleys to your winch set up to clear trees?

i've always had a snatch block and straps...no chainsaw yet, but i have a bow saw always on the truck now...ax typically goes with me too...not on this little trip tho, only brought the maxtrax and bowsaw along with the recovery gear that's always in the truck

trip before showed me the importance of a chainsaw and equipment as one section we had two chainsaws going and i had the ax clearing 4 trees in the way...

also glad we have two sets of maxtrax as there's a lot of mud hidden throughout the woods...winches in both rigs with straps and snatch blocks and plenty of shackles
