Can you just ask for the parts and you do the labor?
That would be awesome. Some flat rate tech wouldnt care about your setup like you do.

lease runs up here at the end of June...gotta get our ducks in line to buy...so May-June we'll be hammer down to find a place to buy out there hopefully...but that's if we can both secure jobs so we can show income streams for the bank...then into the fighting pits to secure a house at a decent price

Funny you'll be back here so soon. What area of VT did you move to? The wife and I were just discussing the other day the potential for us to move in a couple of years to the Stowe/Burlington corridor...

public lands is big...not many places that you can go wheel and camp..within CO/UT/NM/WY/AZ there's many options to go wheel and camp for days on end with different free camping on public lands all while seeing amazing scenery and old relics, whether mining, ghost towns or native american

constant land disputes with road access...snowmobilers think they own all trails

high taxes are a downfall...income, sales and property

a constant battle with salt and rust will suck...already seeing the effect of it in the short time being here

yes i know it's winter, but the lack of sunshine blows...i grew up in CNY and went to school across lake champlain, so i know it doesn't really get any better...i tried to argue this early on, but now we know it's an issue

costs $600 early purchase for smuggs season pass...which is only 1 mountain...and that's the cheapest besides Bolton for the northern/central mountains....versus..."The Epic Pass offers guests access to unrestricted, unlimited skiing for the 2015-16 winter season...for just $769...pass holders gain unlimited, unrestricted access to...Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado, Park City in Utah, Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe, Perisher in Australia for the 2016 season, Afton Alps in Minnesota, Mt. Brighton in Michigan, and up to five free consecutive days when staying at in-resort accommodations at Verbier, Switzerland."

no major sports team around besides the boston region...and no way i'm becoming a fan of any of their teams :D

we also miss the concerts out there at red rocks and many other large venues

already had to battle both fleas and ticks off both dogs

    benefits:
    housing market isn't crazy
    metric shit ton less people
    no traffic
    lake champlain
    close to canada
mountains are still beautiful in VT and NH
    maine coast isn't far
    family is close
people can drive in the winter
    foliage is hard to beat
    adirondacks are close

so we can argue to stay and make it work...but i don't think we're ready to give up the life we had out there...biggest hardship will be leaving the family behind again out here...

but both our parents are retired, so i keep saying, why can't they just move closer to us?! :D but i have not been successful in that argument

No kidding. I'd love to convince the wife's parents and mine to move out here. There is very little allure to MA for me.

    OK - GTFO! Lol

Glad to hear all those compelling differences. As someone who has never lived anywhere but New England its hard for me to imagine living anywhere else. I could never live anywhere that you didn't get all 4 seasons, but I always like to hear about other places as well. I'd love to go visit some time
