no solid date yet, but we'll most likely plan the trip the first weekend after oct 15th again... still up in the air if we want to build it back up again or keep it less "event"-like

Last year was fun. Liked the site more than at BFE. Would look for a better site to park the truck with less sand if going again

few old photos finally got around to wrapping up edits on and uploading....

previously posted a video recap of our trip to the Maze district in 2015, https://youtu.be/t7Is5jqxP8s

Finally got photos thinned out and uploaded

Started at Green River, UT and went south through the San Rafael Desert
    [IMG]

Stopped by the Chaffin Ranch to see the cold geyser
    [IMG]

Our route took us past Hans Flat Ranger Station where we checked in and then shot north into High Spur
    [IMG]

first stop was to scout out our campsite for the night
    [IMG]

we then continued up the trail a bit into the spur more to hike the High Spur slot
    [IMG]

then back to camp to call it a successful first day

next day started with an early morning walk around camp to explore the canyons on the other side of the trail...

after breakfast, we packed up and went down to Chimney Rock to start our hike to the Harvest Scene. we did our loop clockwise and missed the main trail heading into the canyon, so we had to improvise making an interesting descent :)

after some route finding, hairy downclimbs and butt shuffling moments, we saw a welcomed cairn and hit the canyon floor...

then the rain came...luckily didn't come in too hard, but had us scrambling to find safe shelter until it passed.

then back on track to the Harvest Scene
    [IMG]

then back up top we went taking Pete's Mesa back to Chimney Rock

our exit goal was to head back over Sunset Pass and out Poison Spring Canyon...but a missed turn along Hatch Canyon led us to backtrack over the Pass and out to Hite.

Kayla's first real trip behind the wheel was successful and a hell of a way to get into wheeling in her own rig
    [IMG]

Chasing the sunset over to Sunset Pass
    [IMG]

With the sun faded and our exit plan turned upsidedown, we had to pull off the trail just outside the park boundaries at a dispersed camp...then wrapped up our new exit in the morning..
