Have him trim the power steering pump where it fits between the head and the timing cover. As is, it puts a lot of separating pressure in the spot behind the power steering pump. That is the root cause of the timing cover TSB.

Trimming that portion of the power steering pump where it through bolts between the timing cover and head, will alleviate the future potential of a leak.

i disagree.... there is a nut on the top mount of the p/s pump that slides. when the pump is out, i put the bolt back in and tap it with a hammer pushing the nut back. then the pump slides right in when the covers back on. main cause: lack of fipg at head gasket area on right bank from factory.

truck is back and in great shape....thanks again to jace for taking care of her

whole bunch of gaskets, seals and o-rings, new belt, water pump, t-stat and a vent hose...not to mention my tpms on all 5 tires are back in sync...had one throwing my computer off flashing my tire light at me which jace swapped out with a spare that i had..plus some new oil & filter

next project....saving for some rubber....just stopped by discount and they have some 305s available, which i thought was odd seems how everyone talks about mt/r's being on backorder...

planning on tinting the taillights tomorrow and putting a sockmonkey design over my 3rd that i have had hanging around for a while now...

then some painting later this week! and i have some phillips HIDs coming in monday to swap in....4300K

Different method of reaching the same end result.

I agree as well with the lack of FIPG on the timing cover in that particular spot. But to compound that, there is also a small portion of the timing cover, in that same area, which is recessed beneath the machined mating surface of the timing cover. Not sure why it was made like that from the factory, but it certainly doesn't help in keeping things sealed properly.
