just got an email back from interco..

the Trxus 33x12.5x17 will fit my 17x8 wheel! :woot:

on their site the rim width states 17x8.5-11, so i wanted to get their input before getting my hopes up..

they measure the tire at 33.2x12.3...so with the narrower wheel i would image the height to be more and the width to be less, so it should be a nice bump up in height without much width gain...and i've heard amazing reviews on this tire on the rocks, rain and kicks ass in the snow/ice...treadlife i would expect 30k-40k out of them too

just moved up on my list!

    #1 Trxus 33x12.5x17
    #2 MT/R 305/70/17

    wildcards
    STT 295/70/17 or 285/70/17
    Dynapro MT 285/70/17

on another note...stopping by rocky mountain driveline tomorrow morning to get a quote on a new driveshaft...

hope they can produce a full 2 piece assembly with a new carrier bearing and get it done all in one shot...new bearing, new ujoints and a proper driveshaft

concern i have with the 1piece is clearance issues...i mean i've already dinged this driveshaft...a one piece would have more of the shaft exposed..no?

    the heck ar Trxus tires????

    also...why not 35x12.5s :D haha

no way. Too long a wheel base and unless he get dual traction bars or 4 link to help protect it..not worth it. Would get destroyed haha

    $330-340/ea

should be able to get discounts on both options too...

swampers usually aren't the cheapest options

I don't think I'd do a 1 piece since I have the limo, but in an access cab I think it might be alright. Just take a piece of 2x4 or something and hold it in a straight line from diff to transfercase and see how it looks compared to 2 piece

    :notsure:

Don't forget to think about the weight of the TRxus MT. I believe that size is in the 70+ lb. range, and 2-ply sidewall. Although I would bet the Swamper 2-ply wall is as strong as other's 3-ply walls.....

    yup...71lbs per their site..

versus the 64lbs for the MT/R...

definitely something to think about...and yes i would expect the swampers would be very durable on the trail

plus the MT/R at that size is considered a D rating and the Trxus would be closer to an E...so it lacks kevlar sidewall but would be as tough if not tougher on the trails against damage

Kevlar or not tho..still a good year tire. I've heard of 3-4 guys still blowing the side walls on them.

i've heard the same...mixed reviews on most any tire you research though...

if you dig hard enough you'll find someone who had an issue with them..
