Good looking tires. They do well around here and are pretty tough. You never can tell about Interco and their tire sizes though... I would try to find someone that has that size and get actual measurements.

Have you looked at the geolanders? Or dynaMtS?

    Awesome
I have run Geolanders on another rig. Awesome tire but the drawbacks are no cross pattern rotating (directional tire) and super soft compound so there mileage is short. I have heard good things about the dyna's. Bob I still say look at the Hercules or SST's. That's a ton of money on those Interco's.

STTs are nice too, got a buddy who runs them on his 1500 and he likes them...standard sizes though...would be nice to gain .5-1" off your ass haha

on another note, i am going with a one piece shaft...will be picking it up next weekend (out of town all week on business for this guy)

this will be nice because i'll have a spare shaft now incase anything does happen..

i'm thinking about having my old one repaired and a new carrier bearing put on it at some point and maybe have that be my wheeling shaft (swap it out for moab trips and other harder trails)...i have a spare carrier bearing already (questionable whether it fits the truck though), so i'll throw that on the repaired shaft when that project moves forward..

but i'll be sure to take some clearance measurements so we can have an idea of what the loss is when going to a one piece...

going through rocky mountain driveline...some good people over there and heard good things from guys in ttora and colorado 4x4 already...walls will be thicker than factory as well, so that'll be a plus...also means when i repair my factory shaft it'll then have a thicker wall as well..

geolander MT are some crazy looking tires  not a fan of the shoulder and sidewall design and grip though...plus they have limited sizes in 17s..no i won't go all the way to 35s for reasons i said before

dynapro MT looks like a nice tire...i've seen some west coast guys running them...haven't seen many reviews with them..

my big things are...snow/ice performance, off-road performance with 30-40k life

The dynas are supposed to get 50-60k. And that's on full sized trucks.

Think ill get them next. Almost 50 bucks cheaper a tire in 37s.

i'm thinking once i get the 2 piece rebuilt i'll see if i can find a way to tuck the spare one piece under the frame out of the way...

new shaft will be complete with both flanges so the u-joints will be intact and all i'd have to do is unbolt the old and put on the new

got the new drive shaft in...$500 for a custom one piece with a double cardan i make my joints happier...

install was straight forward..torque specs @65ftlbs (i went more)

to get a comparison of the two shafts, i started at the front flange (t-case) and worked my way back in 1 foot increments to the carrier bearing then 1 foot increments to the flange at the 3rd.

    measurements before/after:

    gas tank height 15 3/8"

    old shaft: 21", 20 3/4", (CB) 18 1/8", 16 1/4", 14 1/4", 12 1/2"

    new shaft: 21", 20 1/2", (CB mounting) 18 1/8", 16 1/4", 14 3/4", 12 1/2"

so really the only loss was between the carrier bearing and tcase...the remaining measurements showed no significant changes

height at the carrier bearing was similar, but the old shaft measurements was to the bottom of the CB, while the new shaft measurement was measured to the shaft.

there was a slight gain toward the rear but i think that is mainly from the difference in shaft diameters maybe...plus there is a slight gain in the rear because the slip yoke is now by the 3rd where the factory shaft was full diameter all the way to the 3rd's flange.

might be a different story with the trail limos..but the swap doesn't seem to be much clearance issue with the AC

Did you have that made locally at a drive-line shop or is that a Tom Woods?
