Hey bob on the way to Moab I'm going to spend a night in Denver and a night in Rocky Mountain national park. I was wondering if you have any suggestions of some trails to hit on the way or if you think there's anywhere that will have enough snowpack to justify bringing my board and hiking.

thanks...it was a blast...i should have gotten video of the return rage through the trail...i had to stop a few times to have the pack catch up :D

well you can see some colorado when you make your way to moab at the end of May

there will be snowfields left in the park for sure...down by bear lake there are many cirques that will have snow for a while...i would not attempt any by yourself or without proper gear though as wet slides are a concern in the spring...but anything with a N-NE aspect should have snow into June.

you may have luck up in cameron pass and the never summer range as well. (the never summer range looks amazing!)

check out summitpost.org for some reports.

i maybe in utah by the time you're in town, otherwise i'd join ya for a ride up there...

depending on the status of trail ridge road, you can take ridge road through RMNP over to granby lake area then through hot springs for a scenic route, that will take you down to silverthorne..or from granby through winter park and over berthoud pass.

if you go berthoud pass, you can make a stop by bill moore lake trail (check traildamage.com)..that'll take a half day and if the snowpack up top isn't bad, the lake is a great place to have lunch and explore.

if you feel adventurous, there is a backway into utah that i hear is a great time...been eying it for a while, but never have time to hit it...but it starts in gateway, co and works into utah...there are many options to bring you up to i70 or work your way into the moab area via back roads/trails...

if you come down from winter park to i70 or through silverthorne, you could head down past breckenridge and start taking mountain passes through colorado working your way west and not take a highway all the way to utah...would take some creative route finding, but it can be done...

well finally got around to swapping out my relay on my HID setup...i've been having issues with my passenger side headlight not firing up..about a month back the light was out for about a week straight until i received my new relay, then it fired back up and kept on firing for a while..until last week when it finally went back out..so it was time to fix this shit

got a new relay from TRS for a great price due to the issue i was having..amazing customer service btw...took some time after work yesterday and got it in..so far so good. been firing up everytime i try, so hopefully that was the issue

this is my old relay...as you can see, it appears to have had moisture seep in which was a concern and why i originally thought it could be the relay.

jk. But that is cool..didn't know that. How come just a strait fair lead won't work well?

yea...new bumper definitely would not fly these days haha

where the fairleads bolt into on the bumper is recessed a few inches, so any hard pull at angles will come close to, if not rub on the bumper...

so best option for ARB bumpers and synthetic is to get the new rollers that are synth rope friendly

I have been running a roller fairlead with synthetic line for some time now with no issues to date. I think chafing is an issue if your rollers are chewed up from steel cable as for what you replace them with I don't think it matters so long as they are smooth. This is my opinion and I have discussed it with several folks including dominion offroad where I picked my winch line up and he agreed hawse fairleads may be reccomended but they are not better especially for any pulls at an angle. Sounds like you are not going to switch to a hawse and just replace your rollers it will work fine I can say that from experience.

yea that's the big thing is the condition of the metal rollers...

i've had that thing on for years, so it's due for new rollers to save the line..plus that's one more thing i get to make black on the truck :D

I have seen some swanky looking ones that are made out of a dense plastic (could be wrong, I think it is like cutting board material). Could be useful for you.

Not bad, not bad. I am liking those Daystar rollers too. I like that slot in the vertical rollers for side pulls. I can't wait to see this.
