well true but damn thats a pain.... whats the benefit? if u need longer shocks why not just buy longer ones in the stock location?

 

because longer shocks have longer collapsed lengths....most 12" travel shocks are too long to fit in the stock location..they'll end up being use for a bump stop..that's why people have to have new shock mounts to fit 12" shocks..

inboard shocks you don't need as long of shocks which is another benefit...plus you have more options with eye to eye shocks than stem to eye shocks

inboard at angles you don't need as long of a shock to get as much travel as 12" vertical shocks

 

Because longer shocks in the stock location may bottom out & damage the shock with the difference in travel.

I had to limit my uptravel in order to make it function with the stock mounts.

A relo is in my future at some point...

to a point... he can only stuff those mtrs so far.... plus the bumps will stop the rears right? i had so many options for collapsed/extended lengths........

 

i ideally need a 16 collapsed 28+ for the shackle flip and my leaf pack stem to eye shock

or get a 10" eye to eye with inboard relocation

 

stuffed...not much room left on my current shock...collapsed at around 16

 

and how much do u have to work with extended?

 

when we measured, we saw 26 extended without shocks which is about as far as my shock goes right now..

sounds like the shocks craig and eric are running might be sufficient, but would be close to my collapse length...so i'd be limiting my compression

 

Nothing a hockey puck mod won't fix...

 

When we do your flip Bob we can take one of my shocks off and see if they work for you. Honestly I could use a bit more bump stop to keep my springs out of negative arch but with these shocks I hit the factory bumps on top of the U bolt flip before they bottom out the shock.

Inboard huh? Well somebody got a good amount of birthday money today and I think a welder will be in order.

I have the same shocks and have been trying to come up with a way to limit my up travel over the past couple of days. I really feel like an idiot now.
I'll blame it on the fact that I've never even seen a hockey puck other than when I used them on my heep a few years ago haha.

Ha no need for conflict I will just tell someone in your office to tell you to fix the copier. Then while you are away... BAM those paper weights will disappear off your desk.


Or... I could get a plasma cutter as well as a welder and practice on your rear springs.
