You are here this week huh? Having fun with family?

Bob those pictures look great. I sense some dis-satisfaction with the event organization. Too big or under staffed?

the event was great...the trail runs were the issue. i'm done with organized trails at big events like this. i have a much better time when i'm with a group outside of the event doing our own thing.

i understand the purpose of the organized runs, but it's just not my cup o' tea. in places like this, i like to take in the scenery, tackle harder obstacles and explore.

i got to see many good things about the event that we can use for our event, but i also saw a lot of things about the summit that i'm glad we DON'T do. our event is very unique and i'd like to keep it that way.

100% agree I gave up a long time ago on this type of thing and pretty much was bitched at when I would organize small runs behind closed doors.:notsure:

a lot of times the issues with rogue runs come when there's too many on the trail at a certain time. as long as you can go early or late enough to work around the main traffic, then there's no reason for anyone to bitch. but when all groups start to consolidate on the trails, then the BLM and/or forest service will come down on the groups and start handing out fines.

so for the future, i'll be getting a list of the main trails being ran and work around that.

Damn the truck looks awesome with those tires and the clearanced fenders!

What's up with the trailer and tent? Borrowed or did you find a money tree? I really like the idea of a trailer for the rtt for trips where I'm camping in the same spot for multiple nights. What's your impression of the Manley trailers?

Shastan looks happy out there, daisy misses playing with him. We haven't found any other dogs that she gets along with as well as they did.

borrowed the trailer from a buddy for the week. more testing.

truck will be transforming somewhat soon though toward the expedition side of the spectrum.

exactly what the trailer setup is great for. me, kayla and the dogs were in the rtt on the manley while my buddy jim had his rtt on his truck. every morning we just get our supplies for the day and we're good to go. he had to tear down and setup every day to go wheeling. luckily it doesn't take long to tear down or setup the tents, but it was a pain when it rained every evening so by morning you had a wet tent to pack up.

manley handled the trail very well. it tracked behind me quite nicely. barely noticed it behind there. big complaint i have is the ability to handle bumpy roads. i had to take the faster sections of the trails much slower than normal because it would bounce around. i had that thing on one wheel countless times. lower psi could help a bit, but i think between being a leaf setup, too high psi, higher cog and narrow axle width really made it bounce around a bit too much. i smashed my grill to shit because of it too. it was in the back of the trailer and it was in over a dozen pieces by the end of the day.

    Here's some more trailer pics...

with the off-road hitch, the trailer is able to have a lot of movement without binding. side-to-side, up-down and rotation motions.

tossing around the saratoga/lake george area or burlington, vt region

we were looking into NH, but the police forces there are tough to get into for out of state (kayla is looking to be a LEO) and the lift laws there are STUPID!

so NY or VT are in our search and i need mountains close by and away from NYC haha
