    He was found not guilty, not the same as innocent. He was found liable in civil court, which has a different standard of proof (beyond reasonable doubt for criminal vs. preponderance of evidence for civil).

    Does anyone still really believe he didn't commit the murders? Regardless of whether he was set up for the second crimes, the moron still committed those and in Nevada of all places. He should probably be paroled just so that he can stop sucking off taxpayer money.

    DA's office can't try someone again if not guilty verdict (double jeopardy). That trial was a sh*tshow, everyone looooved OJ in LA, and LA race-relations weren't the best at the time.

    Before this gets out of hand. I too believe OJ had something to do with the murder!
    But I also believe if you get a fair trial and your found guilty you go spend your time!
    Conversely if you'd found not guilty you walk!
    In OJ's case I believe he got away with something !
    I also don't agree with the idea that after being found not guilty there should be a civil trial !
    I guess maybe karma got him!

    The difference is the State of California brought the criminal trial on behalf of the victims and the State. The family brought the civil trial as wrongful death. The criminal trial dealt with punishment for a crime. The civil trial dealt with damages/remedies (money!) for a tort. He still hasn't paid that money to the Goldmans. The whole thing is just sad.
