Last night I installed the ecgs bushing. It was dark when I got it all back together. When I pulled up in my driveway I found this o-ring. It’s metal and like a spring. Any idea where it goes?

Not an o-ring. Its a spring that goes in one of the seals.

I replaced the seal on the side of the differential. Think this could have came out the old seal I tore up taking out?

Dont quote me on this but Im pretty sure all the seals around the CV have the same design. The one near the diff and the two out near the spindle

Easy enough to check the old seal see if it has one or not.

It most likely came out of the old one.
It’s actually pretty common depending on the tool you use to pull it out.

When the spring falls out of a new one, it usually falls out inside when beating the new seal in.
Sometimes, but not always, I pack the backside of the seal with grease to help keep this from happening.

Anyways, in short. If it came out of the new one, you’ll know it pretty quick.
    You’ll have leak.

Again, I feel safe betting it is the old one.
