I need to remove the driver's side exhaust so I can do the re-route myself. The image shows the flange between the lower cat and the upper cat. This is where I will disconnect and hopefully will come off pretty easily.

My concern is getting the O2 sensor out of there. I intend to soak all the exhaust flange bolts with Kroil ahead of disassembly. A couple of questions:

    1. Can I soak the sensor threads with Kroil or, will that ruin the probe?
    2. Do you recommend a line (flare nut) wrench to get this off?
    3. If I have to cut and then reconnect the wires to the sensor, will it still work correctly?

Any tips on getting the sensor out would be greatly appreciated. That damn sensor is $190 so I can't afford to damage it in any way! So, if I can't get it out I'll have to scrap the DIY and have a muffler guy do the re-route. :annoyed:

I know "why don't you do that anyway?" Because I'm a welder and I can fit and TIG weld stainless tube bolted in with the OEM flanges. Otherwise, I'll have carbon pipe permanently MIG welded in and that triggers my OCD. That's why. Thanks. :hattip:
