I lifted this truck with a ToyTec Ultimate with the AAL. The lift final numbers came out to 38 1/4" Frt and 38 3/4" rear. These are measured from the ground thru the hub to the bottom of the fender. I did not measure the truck before I started. Stock 04 Taco 4X4 SR5 Stock 265/70/R16 tire. How much lift does this result in? 2 3/4", 3" I did get a letter from the FAA asking me to put a flashing red light on it if I went any higher LOL :D

I have bought rims, will purchase tires 285/75/R16s Firestone Destination MT. No need for Upper Control Arm for me. UCAs are needed by some for clearance. Big ass tires will rub on the UCA if the Back Space is not right on the rims. I am driving it without an alignment for now until I get the tires and it drives good as is. The Caster needs to be .02 or less and Toe .04 acording to ToyTec. It has a small tendency to follow groves but it is a very small tendancy and the caster adjustment should correct this, but I can drive it fine the way it is. I got the rims with a Back Space (BS)of 4.5 in. The best dimension is 4.0 for BS but none were available that I wanted. The BS keeps the tire off of the UCA. I bought spacers in case I do hit the UCA because the 285/75/16s may rub with the BS of 4.5. If I do hit the UCA I plan on using a spacer plate 1/2 in and Knock out he wheel studs and replace with studs that are 1/2 in longer than stock. That is better than the Spider Track type of design with studs in the spacer.

I will have more pics when I put the new rims and 285/75/16Rs on in january. I did the pinch weld mod under the front wheels today, it was fun hitting the truck with big hammers. :D:D

I put the rims on and here is the result. The tires lifted the truck from 38 1/4 to 40 1/4, measured from the ground thru the hub to bottom of fender. The tires are close to the UCAs but not hitting, probably will on a full or moderate flex. But I will be going slow. No trimming on the fender wells, but I did flatten the pinch weld. The tires are 285/75/16 Firestone Destination M/T

This is a picture of my CV joint at full lock after the lift. I have the frt diff drop on from the Toytec Ultimate. What do you think? EDIT I did end up lowering thelift 3/4 in to keep the CV angle down

On the 1st gen trucks at the back of the inside of the fender well ( front of the cab) Toyota welded the cab together using spot welds on the seam between the two halfs. This sticks up and gets in the way of bigger tires, so you cut the plastic away and bend it over with a hammer. Here is a link on DIY http://www.customtacos.com/tech/index.php?article=9
