I think its a fair price, for that low of mileage. You can probably get the dealer down a bit more but not by much. It looks to be in pretty good condition, I'd buy it.

Wow 19500! They do get good money for them in NJ. Think I could get 25 for my 09 with 30k? I would probably sell it in a heart beat!

I hope you don’t really believe that they got 17,500 in the truck. If that’s what they told you they’re liars. I once read an article and it said that you should believe that everything coming out the car salesmen mouth is a LIE. It’s a good saying to keep in mind when buying a vehicle.

A great strategy that worked for me when I bought my truck was this. I found a truck I liked at a dealership. I went there and looked at a similar more expensive truck and wheeled and dealed with the salesmen for hours. After he was beat and couldn’t go any lower I would ask “well what else ya got that is more toward my price range”??? “How about that Tacoma over there?” (the truck I was actually coming for). Most responses were “O we can work with the price on that one”. Or let them show you a few different trucks and more often than not they will show you the one you came for.

The thing is if you go into a dealership and they know you want “THAT” truck they are less likely to wheel and deal. Good luck!

Sounds like a horrible strategy. What is wrong with doing research on pricing and then just going and offering what you are willing to pay? If they want to sell a vehicle and what you offer is reasonable they will likely take it. If they don't walk away. As to this vehicle, $17500 is a just a bit above Manheim MMR for that mileage, so they very well could have put that much in it if they were going to retail the vehicle, which obviously they are. Personally I would find a newer one with less miles as there it is not going to be a huge price difference....you might be able to buy a brand new truck identical to that one for $28-$29k.

There’s nothing wrong with researching a price and making an offer but, I think everyone knows car dealers are going to wheel and deal. Even if you do give a fair price they will always want more. Whatever strategy works for you. Just sharing my experience. It worked for me.
